This is the original Arcade version of Cotton. The others are ports that have slightly different graphics and/or sound (or full blown remakes). This one is where it all started.

Sega doesn't own Cotton, it ran on their arcade board but that's it

Cotton Reboot is based on the Sharp X68000 port, which has quite a bunch of differences.

​@@TD-kr5vr I thought I had the whole collection so I guess I'm gonna need this one too. The explosions look different and sound effects are different. But I feel like I will have three different version of the same game now. Arcade version, Sharp X68000 version and modern HD version.
