Kid A could definitely be argued for the best album of the 2000's. So influential and completely changed the course of music for good.

Waiting for that day is what I imagine it feels like to go through withdrawal from drugs. When I watched the Afterlife lyric video, I noticed my body was visibly shaking with excitement. Man, if this doesn't prove music is a drug, I don't know what can.

Arcade Fire is awesome. This new album has the potential to be their second or third best full length album (not including their self-titled EP). In my opinion from favorite to least: Funeral, Arcade Fire EP, The Suburbs, Neon Bible. This album may beat The Suburbs, but that may be hard to do.

You're right they should never change their sound and evolve.. Sorry for the sarcasm, but the new songs and lyrics form the Reflektor album (so far) are great! A wonderful new sound for the band!

Revolution 9 is chaos, but there is order there. Of course, most things in music are subject to individual interpretation. Anyway I think there is a lot of Rev9 in RH stuff. Rev9 was truly groundbreaking at the time it was released, as no such or similar thing had been listened before (same as Helter Skelter is many times considered the first heavy metal song). The embryo was there IMO. Thanks for your reply :)

Sorry to disagree with you but we are called music experts/music critics for a reason. Our knowledge, understanding, experience, and training in reviewing and critiquing music is our passion and we always have good judgment and intentions. This is a good album! The reviews on this album have been consistent and good, dude! It's not as good as The Suburbs or Neon Bible, but its a solid effort.

I would say that Kid A did change the the course of music. Revolution 9 was sort of a random collage of sound that didn't really stick with you, where as the tracks on Kid A a very deliberate in their noise. Kid A made beauty from chaos where as Revolution 9 was just chaos in my opinion.

Awesome opinion, I like it :) Mine, personally would be 1. The Bends (Street Spirit is my fave Radiohead song, FPT 2nd and Just 5th, so yeah...) 2. In Rainbows - So close to The Bends, only Album I have where I do not dislike a single song on it. 3. Kid A 4. Ok Computer. 5. TKOL (let down by Little by Little and Morning Mr Magpie) 6. Amnesiac (sorry, only tracks I really like on it are Pyramid Song and Knives Out). 7. Pablo Honey. 8. Hail to the Thief.

It would have been emphatically nice to hear The Suburbs II and to see AF revoking the old familiar territory. Instead they choose to evolve, to explore and to create something new and daring by reflecting on some older stuff (Bowie and Talking Heads influences are obvious). It's the only choice. As for the criticism (Q for example), recall that a lot of critics didn't like Kid A when it first came out. However, nowadays those same authorities hail it as the best album of the 21st century.

Undoubtely Afterlife is better than Reflektor. I can´t understand why all of my friends just didn´t like it or liked it just a bit... I´m stonished with Afterlife, it´s emotional, full of hope. Great melody, great harmony, great lyrics. Perfect. Reflektor is awesome too, but this one... fanstastic!

Don't take me wrong, I love Kid A and all stuff from RH, but please listen to Revolution Number 9 (Beatles), and let me know if you keep thinking of KidA as having changed the course of music... that change happened, but many years before. Kid A is part of the same stream that started with the Beatles (that's good though)...

Out of curiosity, why 4th or 5th, what would you put ahead? I can understand Kid A, and the Bends possibly. But Pablo honey, in Rainbows, amnesiac? surely not King of Limbs?

An expert in our opinion? I appreciate that you have training and a passion, but you can't really *tell* anyone that something is better or worse than anything else. I mean I'd rank OK computer as 4th or 5th in a list of my favourite Radiohead albums, that doesn't mean that it definitively IS; just like it doesn't make me wrong for thinking that. When I read reviews I'm mainly looking for other opinions, one's that could challenge my understanding of an album, not to tell me what's good or not

I don ´t like neither Jigsaw nor Videotape in In Rainbows. But 15 Step, Weird Fishes and All I Need make up for the entire album. And I just don´t understand why Hail to the Thief is so underrated... It´s not a perfect album, it´s too long and tiring I guess, but still a great album.

The Bends is top (only just though). In Rainbows 2nd. Kid A 3rd. Then I can't decided between Ok Computer and Tkol. Probably, marginally, Ok Computer. As I said, that's my opinion. It's not wrong, but that doesn't make it right.

I'll happily debate with you about Arcade Fire here, but let's leave the Radiohead for another place eh? Just to clarify my opinion - I just don't like the album as a sum of its parts. There There is my 3rd fave R song and 2+2 is great. But as a whole, it just leaves me thinking 'meh' Now, I put it to you that Afterlife is better than Reflektor :P

completely disagree. You can not use the word "judgement." people will either like it or not like it. Or some could think it's good, others very good. It's all subjective. If you want to describe how your "judgement" comes into it, feel free. The skill of a reviewer or any journalist is being a good writer. I read reviews i completely disagree with but enjoyed reading because they were well written. A general consensus can be reached but nothing more. Don't be so high and mighty!
