The reason why all of these 1970s and 1980s video arcade game machines, are such a big deal to me is that they can be restored. They're all something that's, from the classic past. Even though they have a different sound to them. There's just only one drawback, one of them had a sadistic sounding released recording. It's called 'I'm your Automatic Lover.' I'm quite surprised that neither one played this released recording: that's Coldplay's 'I Wish to Rule the World.' It's another sadistic sounding released recording.

Love the videos, thanks for making them as it gives me some more insight into the games I'll most likely be on the lok-out for next. But it would be handy if you mentioned in the video description where cheats were used. Otherwise it may give some people the impression that the game was badly programmed and had poor collision detection routines and thus turn people away from the joys of retro gaming. Just my thoughts, keep up with the cool retro game playthroughs ;)

This game was released in the U.S. through Bally Midway, the same company who brought us _Pac-Man_, _Ms. Pac-Man_, _Bosconian_, _Galaxian_, _Galaga_ and _Mappy_ which were all also created by Namco. Had this been ported to a home console, Atari would likely have snapped up those rights, as they had with _Pac-Man_, _Ms. Pac-Man_, _Galaxian_ and _Galaga_.
@BaccarWozat8 жыл бұрын
I believe Atari may have either bought the rights or been in negotiations to do so at one point. They licensed a lot of games whose console releases either never saw the light of day (Frisky Tom), or were turned into other games because they couldn't be ported to the 2600 (Star Castle), or were only made available through Atari Club (Crazy Climber). Atari buying console rights to Namco games was what endeared them to Namco, whereas Bally/Midway abused their arcade license and made lousy Pac-Man games. Hence the point in 1984 when Atari Games got the Namco arcade account and was later purchased by them to release their NES cartridges.
@matthewbertrand41392 жыл бұрын
they didn't "snap up the rights," they bought a license, which multiple people can and did. the NES features ports of Galaga, Pac-Man, and Xevious created by Bandai, who also made even more Japan-only ports to the Famicom of games like The Tower of Druaga and Galaxian. Tengen also made their own NES Pac-Man port. Ms. Pac-Man has ports for the SNES and Game Boy not developed by Atari.
@reillywalker1952 жыл бұрын
@@matthewbertrand4139 Indeed. The SNES port of _Ms Pac-Man_ was made by Digital Eclipse and published by Williams. Nintendo also republished Bandai's NES ports of _Pac-Man_ and _Xevious_ for the Game Boy Advance as part of the Classic NES Series.
@ClassicTVMan1981X5 ай бұрын
@@BaccarWozat In Japan, Commodore had bought the home rights but were not able to do so for the U.S. and Canada, so here the VIC-20 version of Rally-X was reprogrammed as Radar Rat Race. This would have meant Atari could still have gotten the home rights to Rally-X for North America.

@scottbrady74994 жыл бұрын
obviously set to easy mode. those mud patches and ANY collision kills. the smoke trail becomes important in the aqua/cyan sets. so many vehicles chasing. never got to "charanging" stage three, to see the pink/lavender sets. you got to know the maps anf put joystick inputs that lead the cars all the wrong ways while you criss cross the entire course. you can play screens, and never see a red car. easier than ms. pac man, but the same priciple applies- keep going "up," and all the ghosts know your're up at the top, somewhere.
