Just buy a konami arcade compilation. You'll get a perfect emulation of the game, minues the cabinet itself. Alot cheaper too. I havw konami arcade hits on my nintendo DS and enjoy playing tutankahm in the comfort of my home or wherever I wanna take the DS.

Seems a likely source of Namco's Tower of Druaga(June 1984). Tower of Druaga is regarded as a starting point of Japanese RPGs, though it of course began as an arcade game. Also remember Paganitzu? (1991, Keith Schuler/Apogee)

Tower Of Druaga is based on Pac-Man and the starting point of Japanese RPGs is Black Onyx, although really the starting point of Japanese RPGs is American RPGs.

What I hate about this game is that you can't fire up and down!
@tyrem4 жыл бұрын
It would not be the same if you could. It was a design choice made on purpose and it makes it absolutely unique. Another "feature" was that you could not stop at every positon. The walls stop you. Makes it hard but it also makes it to the game it is! Very special, challenging and damn cool. :)
@jerryschuller55424 жыл бұрын
@@tyrem You're right, it wouldn't. It would be a lot better. They ruined what would've been a perfect game.
@tyrem4 жыл бұрын
@@jerryschuller5542 no. they would have made it a totally different game. tutankham is hard to master because of the way it was meant to be. it is not a flaw, it is the concept of the game not to stand still and to shoot left and right only.. back then the game designers wanted to come up with fresh ideas. tutankham came with two sticks and one of them is left/right-only. the design elements they used made this game to what it was and is. some people think it is too hard, some people hate the way they went with it but others love it for these exact same reasons.

@julienbraudel71093 жыл бұрын
@@handsomebrick Wrong. Japan was the center point after that crisis, had a major industry before the crash and was the real innovative place long before and long after (Space Invaders is a turning point, and it is 1978). Canada was not a country that count a lot back then, and has a relative short history in video games, initiated by the French industry when one of the biggest company moved there (Ubisoft).

@power20844 жыл бұрын
@@tyrem no i'm not kidding. The design is just flawed, that thing about being unable to fire up/down is a very artificial and illogical way of creating a challenge.
@tyrem4 жыл бұрын
@@power2084 yet it works perfectly and it makes the game to the game it is. shooting in all directions? nah... that is like Mario climbing the leadder in Donkey Kong with an active hammer.
@power20844 жыл бұрын
@@tyrem the problem is that is makes no sense. No reason is given for the inability to fire up/down. That's what is called a bad design. A simple alternative would have been: allow firing in all 4 directions, but the player has limited ammo. There you go ! Anyone would have understood the reason (ammo is limited because it doesnt grow on trees)
