80s and 90s were fantastic for arcade games. I 'm glad I was of that generation to experience them... Good thing MAME exists to replay them again for FREE!

Oh the glory of Arcades! i recall people used to melee enemies all the way to the boss just to avoid wasting ammo on that that Super gun. They only fired it if absolutely necessary. Two quick shots and the boss is dead. (double crane, wrecking ball)

@@dukes8359 Yeah, but considering the size of the explosions when you shot something (remember when Clarence was demonstrating the "state of the art bang bang" in the movie?)... well, I really wonder how Robocop was able to shoot the criminal without killing the hostage at 6:28. :)

@ It _kind of_ does, actually, but they had to take liberties to turn the movie into a game that can be beaten in less than a half hour. Also, IIRC, the entire game including all music and graphics assets had to fit into 512 KiB. The NES game was a port of this one, by the way. A completely different Robocop game was released the next year for the Commodore 64, MSX, ZX Spectrum, and Amstrad CPC, as well as PC compatibles, which bore only a loose resemblance to this game.
