This game is pretty good for a Street Fighter 2 clone. It has a nice oriental theme to it and it should come out on the Wii Virtual Console.

I remember this game. Strangely enough, I always found it cool. Not only was the game, and some of the characters a bit wacky (eg. granny), but the music really fit well with the stages too. And the special effects were nicely done. I like this one more, than the bland sequels that came after. 9:03 Axel from Streets of Rage.😲

Formula to beat 1: Angela belt: jump and kick while coming down. 2.Otane: Push back and release long punch when she just enters your punch range. 3. Last boss lady(Oume): Jump forward and kick over her fireballs.

I'm not just seeing AoF and SF2 here, but some Samurai Spirits as well. The bonus stages have Shinryo Kyoshiro's kabuki theme in them, and the shamisen music in Saizo Hattori's stage is very similar to SS music.

Wow, people REALLY just had to spout "ripoff" at first glance. Power Instinct is a parody of the blooming fighting genre at the time. And of course, no one even brought up the fact that this game predated the stage-barrier mechanic way before it was implemented in Real Bout Fatal Fury and Rage of the Dragons. Pfft.

Actually, it did receive two console ports. One for the SNES/Super Famicom and one for the Genesis/Mega Drive, but only the SNES version made it out of Japan.

I was playing this game on Arcade, ever beat with Thin Nen and White Buffalo. I also like to choose Reiji Oyama because he is like Robert Garcia from Art of Fighting, but never beat with him. Everybody always use to choose Thin Nen in my city from Indonesia.

well that part is rather obvious.. and i don't think they tried to hide the fact they were ripping the SF series, its basically a comedy game like Ramna 1 1/2, think of it as SF2 but without all the seriousness, if you look at it with a broad sense of humor its a really cool game. ;)

This game and World Heroes have the wackiest character designs. The portraits look great and some of the moves look pretty cool but gameplay-wise, it was pretty janky. Half of White Buffalo's sprite set is literally traced from Sagat's from Street Fighter. lol.
