I remember playing this at the arcade when it came out in 1987. I wasn't very good at it but I enjoyed it. The Alien With Three Eyes on Top of the machine really made this game stand out. Very creative idea from Sega.

Sledgex3 It's a "time bomb". They're supposed to go off at a specific time, but I guess they didn't want to take any chances with the aliens here.

I suspect they were concerned the aliens may assimilate them into their own hive consciousness, therefore they set the time bomb before they embarked on the mission to ensure it could not be cancelled

Back in the days when I was crazy about Aliens......and couldn't find any descent game......I always pretended this game was staged in that world......you were Hicks or Ripley, and you were rescueing people from the Sulaco, the alien Hive......etc...

From the perspective of someone who didn't play this game, For its time, these graphics are pretty good. The enemies in this game, even the basic ones, are actually pretty creepy, and I don't consider myself to be "easily disturbed".

I literally have to force myself not to cry out of my soul shattering fear of this game. I was making a sega quiz at school and decided to add this for a question of “is this game absolutely terrifying?” I got a picture of gameplay so people taking the quiz could understand what game I was referring to, and I almost cried because of how much this game has traumatized me. I’m not scared of anything except being in the dark for long periods of time, so I kind of relate with you about not being easily disturbed.

One of my favorite arcade games of all time! I got good enough to beat it and got to the level 6 boss second time through. But I watched a friend of mine beat it twice on a quarter and he died on level 2 the third time through. The third time was so fast it was insane.

I can’t watch this video, nor do I want to. I came simply to ask everyone a question… Am I the only person TERRIFIED of this game? I literally almost cried out of my fear of it while i was making a sega quiz at school (for fun, it’s on blooket it’s SEGA test and the description says “Literally a test about SEGA” and the cover is sugc). It’s incredibly terrifying and i promise im not lying when I tell you I almost cried when I had to get the image for the test. It’s so scary!! So scary, in fact, that I decided I should make a challenge on my channel. I would have to try not to cry out of intense fear while playing this game. Ended up mega raging on Alien Storm while trying to unlock it 🥱 I’ve never played Alien Storm before then, but it’s pretty fun! Never played Alien Syndrome either, but I remember seeing someone (can’t remember if it was my brother or my uncle and his buddies) play it when I was younger. I had to buy a new copy of Sonics ultimate genesis collection to play bonanza bros so I thought why not! I would’ve had to unlock the rest of the games anyway, it’s the completion ist in me. Before you start making fun of me for being scared, I’m 13. Not that a full grown adult wouldn’t cry while playing this…

@Ronaldo Agudelo They never had the upperhand long enough to rule (they may have ruled in the UK, but nowhere else, including Japan for any extended period of time). The Saturn was actually a far better console than the Genesis, especially the Japanese side of the software. Sega had no legacy left by this point (the early release and game drought in the west saw to that), but the Saturn was quite a nice machine, and as someone who owns the console, and 57 games for it, I can attest to it's greatness. I have 181 Genesis games, yet feel like I want to play my Saturn far more.

idk if this will help you but this is what i do for level two -start by getting the FB power up -collect the comrades as you go to the top left corner of the screen -go to the right a bit then get the O power up -go down to the bottom left corner -go right then get the other O power up -head towards the top right corner -go into the boss room once you've collected the hostages in the boss -stand just left from the middle gloop or whatever -mash the fire ball to the boss -move out of the way if the gloops come too close to you by heading to the far left of the screen -repeat and you'll hopefully win
