This one and DIET GO GO are my favourite DATA EAST arcade games! I beat both games many times with 1CC when I was a kid. In my case I always started on the South Pole stage.

My goodness.. the only way I can honestly describe this is by combining 2 comments I've seen here as they fit so well. After about 20 years now... 20 YEARS of remembering playing this game at an arcade when I visited my cousins in Mexico as a little kid... I had almost thought I imagined it all, or that I'd never be able to find this strange game ever again... and yet, here it is. In all its strange and wonderful glory, here it is. And I rember it exactly how it was to a T. From graphics.. enemies.. to the kookie music even. It's all here. Thank you. Thank you for helping me find my childhood again.

This game can be found as a MAME rom and used in an emulator. It plays very well on a WASD keyboard even without a controller. Played it on a cabinet in our local arcade back in the day. Pretty fun 2 player game too.👍

Snow bros came in 1994 this is the original game. Snow bros copied this game I guess. I might be wrong.

Data East had strange games, but that's the charm to the company, they made games the way THEY wanted to do them. They created some kusoge, or crap games at times, but many times they experimented and came up with some bizzare, yet oddly cool games. The only other company I know that experimented and came up with a lot of cool stuff, Taito. The difference, DE employees didn't care, they just kept cranking out bizzare stuff.

I just started playing this on my new Evercade console. It's an interesting concept. The structure reminds me a little of Mario Bros but with vacuums. In fact it's a reverse Dig Dug. Of all the games in the Data East cartridge it came on, Tumblepop is one of the best.

This was my favorite game at a Round Table Pizza near me when I was very little. The day they got rid of the cabinet was a sad day for lil kid me. That said, they replaced it with Street Fighter II and a Neo-Geo machine, so my complaining was short lived. That said, I thought about Tumblepop for years. It's a simple and dumb game, kind of a Bubble Bobble clone, but it just sorta clicked with me. I thought I would never play it again, until I discovered MAME, of course. 😉
