I still love this cabinet, even though it lacks the stick code accessible pac-man. The wash-out is nowhere near as bad as the TN monitor on my Centipede legacy cab. The only thing I had to do was throw in a volume attenuator. Sounds are nice, and soft, when I need them to be, now. I'll be getting the Pac-Man Deluxe, once I can scrape together enough funds for it. Thanks for the video. :)

I'm on the fence between this and the Pac Man deluxe. The only difference is you get 2 extra games with the Pac Man, but I like the look of the class of 81 more.

Pretty sure the reason for no original Pac-Man is the situation with AtGames - for some reason, Namco isn't allowed to sell a collection that has both mas pac man and pac man, has to be one or the other.

I have the Class of 81 arcade1up cabinet myself. It's not the deluxe but I still love it, because it brings back a lot of memories for me. When I was a kid, I played Ms Pac-Man on fast at Camelot on the Class of 81 and it was fun. That's why I got the Class of 81 arcade1up cabinet

Is the Fast Fire setting on Galaga the one where just hold down the button to keep shooting, or the option where the bullets actually travel faster?

Appreciate the extra details here. This is my first cabinet and it’s been really insightful to watch your videos on it. Shame licensing stuff has meant the opening screen is now vanilla. Don’t they still have them on other cabinets like SF2? Waiting for ML2 deluxe to hit the UK and will probably grab Star Wars too despite the riser.

I just built the Ms. Pac-Man on Sunday night for Father's Day. Yes, did the update take away that opening animation. The plastic that covers the controls is not tight on the surface. It's leaving a gap between the plastic and the surface. The ball on the joystick keeps getting loose.

Take the ball off of the joystick, then place a drop of the "blue" Loctite on the top of the stem, then screw the ball back on and let it sit for a few hours. Once dry, the ball will not unscrew. However if you really needed to get the ball off again, it will come off with a bit of pressure applied when turning. That's why you want the blue Loctite. The red Loctite will be permanent and you won't be able to get it back off if you ever needed to. Make sure it's the blue. As for the Plexi cover on the control panel, it should settle in over time. If not, then try unscrewing it and placing it back on and screw it back down, but not too tight. Mine was like that too and eventually it settled in.

It already has a 4-way restrictor plate on the stock joystick. These joysticks in these deluxe cabs are different than what they were previously using. They are a little better quality. They are no Happ stick, but they aren't terrible either. If you read that they have an 8-way stick, that is true, but they do already have a 4-way restrictor installed. With that said, if you want to install a Happ joystick or something similar, I would recommend doing it before you even build the cab because you will not be able to access it once the cab is built. Unlike their previous designs, this cab would need disassembled to get to the control panel. Also, it will be a challenge as it's not so easy to just dremel out like previous control panels. A different stick like a Happ stick will actually be too big and will rest on part of the encoder board. There are ways around it, but it will be some work and trial and error to get it right. At any rate, what they have in there already has a 4-way restrictor plate. It's not perfect, but it's much better than their previous offerings.

It’s not do the codes work it’s does it sound and play like the Ms Pac-Man galaga 20th anniversary sounds and play like after watching others playing it on KZbin it doesn’t you would need to buy the the arcade machine that’s 300 pounds that’s $3,000 to get that same play and sound I own this machine since 2004 since there was no perfect sound affect on consoles it was the PS2 then later comes out namco museum 50th anniversary on PS2 original Xbox GameCube the first one that had the same sound and on PSP after those got released finally namco decided to make the rest sound and play just like the arcade but I don’t think we will ever see a Ms Pac-Man galaga 20th anniversary ever get released with the same sound I’m fine with that I have it hacked and added to my PC and it doesn’t sound the same it plays but you can’t select galaga or add more lives it’s weird if you really want it go buy the arcade machine that’s the only way

Sounds good to me. You can add more lives to galaga, who said you couldn't? If you have the original machine, as you say you do, why do you care about this? I have plenty of real, original coin op machines, mainly the ones I REALLY wanted. I was an arcade maintenance tech for years back in the late 90's, early 2000's. That's when I acquired the majority of my real coin ops. Arcade1Up cabs are fun little gimmicks that I don't have to work on or restore, so I collect them. What's your reason?

@@Riddict arcade 1 up has problems releasing games we need really and stop releasing the same games over and over if they want to keep on making mortal Kombat games at least make a mortal kombat 4 if they want to keep on making Pac-Man and Ms Pac-Man release then Jr Pac-Man that hasn’t went on any consoles the Atari 2600 was a failed it really needs to go on consoles and release the Ms Pac-Man plus Ms pac attack that you will only see on make 32 so many Ms Pac-Man games you will never find they all say they were made by midway MFG Balley I sure wish they were still here namco is boring
