Long nights on Super Nintendo playing this game as a kid. My spot, friends' cribs... Then at ToysRus on the free Sega Genesis n SNES set-ups at the mall, or sometimes at the skating rink arcade. The one I hate is the hair-pin projectile duck followed by a high-damage attack while you’re still vulnerable in those animation frames.

kloopon You can avoid most of the throws if you do, say, a sweep kick or a roundhouse kick, from a certain distance away. They will instantly throw you if you’re right next to them, so you have to be outside the range of where throwing is possible to land a hit. As for uppercutting, the key is in the timing. It doesn’t work all the time, but more often than not I can land an uppercut on the wakeup after being knocked down by holding down for just the right amount of time. If you uppercut too early, they’ll duck and uppercut you instead; if you wait a fraction of a second too late, they’ll throw you for crouching while too near to them. The timing must be extremely precise.

kloopon The one I hate the most is when they throw you into a corner. It’s bad enough when they throw you, but then they trap you in the corner with the jump kicks. You can’t attack, jump away, or do anything till the ai decides to throw you back out again, and by the time it does you’re already dead or so low on life you stand no chance of winning. It’s completely inescapable and even more bullshit than the normal bullshit this game’s ai gives.
