We are located in the center of #Arcadia. Built on a mountainous hill and at an altitude of 946 meters, Dimitsana offers magnificent views of the plain of #Megalopolis and #Taygetos. Built on the site of the ancient Arcadian city of Tefthis, Dimitsana is first mentioned in 967 AD in a patriarchal document related to the #Monastery of Philosophou. In the Greek Revolution of 1821, the village played a key role as the main producer of gunpowder for the revolutionaries.
