i love the heimerdinger scenes and both lines of "you'd be surprised what you could accomplish if your life depends on it" and "it's not enough to give people what they need to survive. you have to give them what they need to live." because it really shows how immortality can shape your views on urgency of help, safety protocols, and living life to the fullest.

There are so many amazing little details. - Viktor couldn't chase the little boat as a kid, and now with shimmer he is able to outrun the boats on the background. - Plants growing where they "shouldn't" be. The firelights hideout has the giant tree that bloomed, and the place where the "barons" from the undercity have the reunions also have plants, but those ones withered and died after Silco released the gas there. - Jinx made her weapon in the form of a shark as a gift to Silco. (One of its eyes was also like Silco's eye) In Act I he mentioned how much he liked the underwater creatures of Zaun, so she made the weapon a shark as a gift for him.

There's a difference between the plants in the Chembaron's conference room and the tree - the plants were brought down form Piltover, and died when exposed to the gasses from the fissures, whereas the tree has grown out of the poisoned soil of the undercity, persevering against all odds to grow big and strong. I think the symbolism is that the Chembarons are transitory, while the Firelights have deeper roots.

Him talking to Vander's statue was not him contemplating whether or not to turn Jinx in but a conversation he has with his long lost friend (Vander) as to that basically after all these years he understands Vander now - the fact that he was ready to sacrifice everything he had built and how he became a changed man all to save Vi (his daughter). And now years later Silco is in the same position - he is contemplating on sacrificing his dreams and everything he fought for to save Jinx (his daughter). It all came full circle. Swear to God, this show has so many payoffs , be they short term or long term but they are all just so perfect and cathartic!

I LOVE the "I made her a snack" scene. Like... everyone, EVERYONE I watch reacting to this is like "Please don't be Caitlyn's head, please dont' be Caitlyn's head...", including me. Hell, VI HERSELF is thinking it, like: clearly, in some kind of fucked up-meta thing. And at the end, Jinx goes like: "Shees, I'm not THAT crazy!" Wich is even funnier since it implies that she purposefully used the "dramatic flare" of her insanity to make EVERYONE think that XD She really IS terrifying.

And it's the same trick done on the movie Se7en, where a lot of people think they saw the head in the box, when in fact it was also only a portrait shot intercut to the scene. (And that's where the line "What's in the booox?" comes from …)

Not sure if you want spoilers but if you don't stop reading. The crystals are actually alive with an ancient culture. The reason Viktor can't destroy them, the fact that they punish him afterwards. The sentience within the crystal bear's an influence on any who come in contact. The shields being a natural part of hextech/sentience of the creature to defend itself.

That's interesting, also the reason why everyone keeps telling her about her guard is because she first really learnt how to fight on that machine where she had the high score and that machine encourages dodging and attacks, counter attacks....

So many parts of this show were great, but more than anything else I appreciate how perfectly it demonstrated how vicious the cycles of violence and abuse and poverty are, and the way mental illness strikes at people when it's left to fester without any kind of help... Jinx didn't have to turn out this way, she's a result of what has happened to and around her. And Vi is floundering so much too, like she got out of prison physically but is still stuck there mentally. None of what happened in this show was inevitable, it was all just a result of the environment and the decisions characters made without knowing the consequences. Every character and their point of view on the storyline makes SENSE in this show, you can see exactly why everyone reacts the way they do even when it hurts them later, and it's SO refreshing to see.

Vi was so focused on bringing back Powder, while a noble goal. Jinx is not Powder anymore and Vi refusing to accept that, led to Jinx doubling down, Silco loved her unconditionally and Jinx could tell Vi would only love her if she became Powder again.

I found it amazing how Jinx said that Vi's voice was always pushing her to move forward and stay alive, but at the end she only heard Silco's voice as she launched the rocket towards the Council.

In episode 3, while Vi almost made an escape with Vender and the crew, Jinx intended to save them by throwing the bomb but ended up killing almost everyone. In episode 9, while the Council finally voted for peace in favor of Silco's dream for the independence of the underworld, Jinx intended 'help' Silco by destroying the Council but ended up destroying the peace and Silco's ultimate dream. An unpopular opinion is that this is not a cliffhanger but instead a perfect ending for 'The Birth of Jinx' origin story.

Silco was the worst influence on Powder, but unfortunately he was the person who understood her the most, who accepted and loved Jinx the most. Their relationship was dark, but at the same time beautiful and poetic, even more so when Silco visits his brother's grave and tells her that now he understands, now he understands why the sacrifice, the love of a father for a son or daughter can change any desire you have. You can go to hell with a smile on your face if the end is to give your daughter some peace.

Yeah, even in game lore, Jinx has a "weird obsession" with Vi (originally they weren't confirmed sisters, this show was actually basically the confirmation even though they already left hints before) and Vi had amnesia, so she deadass didn't remember who Jinx was. But Jinx would actively seek her out and play pranks/get her to chase her around Piltover and Zaun as basically her way of "bonding" with her, even after all that time. Plus, in legends of runeterra there's a mission you can play where Jinx finds this stuffed rabbit (like the one Vi gave her) and goes looking for Vi to give it to her as a birthday gift. Cait calling Vi her partner makes Jinx lose her MIND, indicating Jinx's hangups/insecurities about Vi are mostly still just that she's around Cait. Depending on how you play it, Jinx and Vi can either be enemies still or make up, with the ending scene being them hugging and watching the enforcer academy burn to the ground. Even in the enemy route, Vi just looks really sad when she tells her she can't keep going around hurting people to get what she wants. TLDR: In conclusion, they'll always love and care about each other no matter how messy and complicated things get between them. They'll always be sisters.

So, Vi can’t call her that again due to regrets (and it fully being tied to seeing her as a negative aspect), while Jinx is so far into embracing it that _she_ can’t see herself as even who she used to be.

@@l.josinoI’m willing to politely debate and suggest that Silco wasn’t trying to manipulate Jinx as much as it seems. I always viewed his words as him saying what he believed, and he did think Vi was actually dead. “It’s only a matter of time before you implode and he sees you’re as good for the cause as you were for your family. Jinx” explains it pretty well. Silco didn’t know how Jinx would react to seeing Vi again-her timing of showing up after the Gemstone was stolen-doesn’t help, either. As for isolation, I can’t speak about that too much. Jinx seems to have free reign and can go where she pleases, but that could be speculation. Silco is still a terrible father, but I also think it’s safe to say that he did try, it just wasn’t his best. (I could be biased since my dad really likes Silco, Heimerdinger, and Vander).

22:31 No. To my understanding, the whole 'teams of 5 trying to destroy each other's base' thing isn't part of any lore. It's just a game. I think, apart from Jinx, many of the other champions in the series haven't fully reached their 'final form' as it were, both game-wise and lore-wise. So their origin stories are far from complete. In other words, Bruce Wayne still hasn't put on his cowl and Clark Kent is still living on the farm. So we will be getting another season, maybe two, to address these........transformations

The lore used to go like, the Institute of War was established after the fifth Rune War, and Summoners would be assigned to different nations, these Summoners would call forth champions and mindless minions to fight, inside those controlled environemnts, for the causes representing their nation. But all of that has been retconned and doesn't exist anymore.

About the Game vs Lore. The best analogy I can give is this: Imagine a game of chess where every piece is different, does different things, has a personality and a background story. You still don't need to know the story to play the game of chess. League is like that. The lore is in the background. It is not explored in-game. When new characters come out, they tell the lore of it to increase the hype hence the sells. Hope this helps you guys understand! Love the videos btw!

both LoL and Arcane are like that Arcane is the backstory of the "chess pieces", but you dont really need to play the game (chess/LoL) to understand it LoL is the game that uses those "chess pieces", but you don't really need to know their background stories to play it

In terms of lore, Piltover vs Zaun is a very minor geopolitical conflict, it is not that they will go to war and that will be the end of the world for them in itself, what scares the shit out of Medarda, who is the most diplomaticly savvy character there, is that Piltover showing weakness will make the real world powers step in.

I love how the line “what could have been” happens before the shark crushes the window because in that room there’s a group of people voting for a future where Piltover and Zaun live in peace with each other so we are literally looking at what could have been before Jinx destroys it all. I also enjoy the parallel with episode 3, where in both situations Jinx thinks she’s doing the right thing or helping some she loves but in reality her interfering is just turning what was to be a good situation very very bad. No matter how much we love her, she truly is a jinx

​@@dietos3715 Jinx could've given up herself (before killing Silco), even if it was against Silco's wishes. Vi did _precisely that_ near the end of Act 1, so what's her sister's excuse? None. She has no moral high ground, and nothing to deflect blame when it comes to this situation. She's sympathetic, but she's ultimately selfish, and could only focus on her own pain (also probably didn't want to suffer the consequences of her previous terrorism).

The thing that really impresses me about this show is that all the characters the "camera" tends to focus on have such a human quality to them. They all make decisions that are ill-advised, and they all have moments of grace. I found the scene where Silco confesses his conundrum to Vander to be remarkably poignant. The idea of Silco now understanding Vander's view of some sacrifices not being worth it felt like coming full circle.

I think this was a perfect open ended story on itself - the heart of the story is about 2 sisters being ripped apart by circumstance, then trying everything to get back together to their old relation only to find they have changed so much that that simply isn't there and a new status quo is attained. Sad as it may be, what's left open can easily be imagined where it would lead to (Vii & Cait back together, Jinx lone wolf, council dead, war unavoidable), if not for the confirmed season 2 where I'm sure Mel, Jayce & Vicktor will survive somehow (Mel shield?) and more trouble Vii & Cait awaits as well as new storylines coming into the mix. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is I loved this ending before I knew a season 2 was coming (that based on the teaser is a direct continuation of this season). While I'm glad more of this amazing show is coming, it still stands very well on it's own as an open ended story with a completed through-line.

i don't want vi to completely move on/forget about jinx. like i don't want her to go just like "fuck jinx, she doesn't exist to me, powder's gone, its not my fault" etc. i know they're not just gonna go back to sunshine and rainbows, but i think by making her always carry that burden (that jinx is partly her fault) together with jinx is what gives their conflict weight. the conflict between them in the next seasons has the potential to be some of the best moments in cinematic history

This season was about Jinx and how she became from powder to Jinx, she has played her role on this story, I believe on Season 2 she will still be around of course but they will focus more on the others since their stories still need to be told.

I reckon it'll be a prelude to Noxus' invasion of Ionia, so we could see a lot of Ionian champs around, like Irelia, Yi and the Vastayans, like Ahri, Rakan and Xayah. We might even get the more neutral parties, like Bilgewater or champs like Sett (A half-vastayan crime lord) or Rengar (a bounty hunter/big game hunter) The scary thing is if Medarda is here as a sort of diplomat, we could very well see Noxus' head honcho, Swain pre-bird demon.

"The game is the war, right?" Used to be the case back in the day. The League of Legends were the champions that fought each other in Summoner's Rift on behalf of the Institute of War to settle political disputes in lieu of actual war, on account of the fact that their world of Runeterra was liable to be destroyed if they had another full on war. Riot scrapped all that old lore on account of it becoming harder and harder to justify the story with various gods, dimensional ravagers and other mad shit that kept being added as characters. Now the lore is just informative of the characters places, positions and history in the world, the game League of Legends is technically non-canon to the actual setting of Runeterra itself. It's more like Smash Brothers conceptually now, a big 'what if' environment. All the characters do exist in Runeterra but there's no represented platform in canon for them to meet and battle like they do in the MOBA anymore. I'm sure you have already found out elsewhere as well, but a season 2 has already been confirmed in production. How far along they mean is unknown, but it's coming. Hedge bets on 2023.

That Silco and Vander's statue scene is so often overlooked by reactors. It's easily one of the most important scene of the show. There's even a throwback from episode 1 when Ekko said that Jayce "didn't even haggle." And Silco says the exact same. It's such a clever show, not sure they'll ever be able to match season 1 unless they truly carefully take their time as they did with this one. Oh and absolutely use the same teams for every part of that masterpiece, thank you very much. Arcane's story telling is so clever I'm not surprised many reactors struggle to pick up on all these details. People aren't used to such smart writing anymore.

What Silco said to Jinx in his final moments was true to the point! The moment Vi would realize that Jinx is no longer the little Powder, she would have walked away! Actually leaving Jinx all alone yet again! Trust is very hard and you can't just put it into everybody! People need to provethemselves worthy if some1s trust is to be placed upon them! I am with Silco on that front 100% never trust anybody. And if you have to, make sure you can dispose of them if it comes to it. Seems healthy and safe to me. And considering who these people are, yes I think that dad and daughter alone together seem healthy if we consider all the strings attached around. Ever since Jinxes parents died because of Vander, Jinx needed somebody. To guide her, to look out for her, to protect her and to love her unconditionally. Silco did that, Vi couldn't... She wouldn't even chose her own sister over some random girl she known for what 2 maybe 3 days? What does that say about the purity of Vi's intentions? Is that healthy for Jinx? To be taken away from the one person who would do anything for her only to end up with somebody who would leave her alone to pursue her own selfish desires?

@@NerieI Gotta remember that Silco felt betrayed by Vander so it's truly how Silco sees the world. Its everyone else vs Jinx and himself. In the early episodes he even says, he died and a new man was reborn. Bringing it full circle to Powder dying and being reborn as Jinx. I dont think its toxic or that he's purposefully being toxic. Its a mechanism he developed when dealing with others. Cant trust them. And its what he teaches Jinx because he truly believes thats the best way to avoid pain and to come out ahead. Its just a bunch of dudes who grew up in messed up circumstances doing the best with what they believe is right.

That still doesn't change the fact, that it is a very Toxic love. For both of them. They gave each other what they wanted but not what they needed and with more time, their mental state would have gotten worse and worse. That just happens, when people isolate themselfs from the world. I mean, if I have to explain, that it is not a good thing, that a Father and Daughter, live together for the rest of their lifes, with no other social contacts, since they believe everybody will betray them... Everything, everything fits and plays together in the end and there is no lose end and every exposition was paid off. Absolutely stunning show.

Sooo I literally JUST noticed something cool last night.. At the end right after they show the rocket start to open up/activate, Jayce and Mel are smiling at each other and you can see her Facial expression change. Like she actually did notice something was wrong... I can't even tell you how many times I've watched this scene or how many reaction videos I've seen... And I've always thought the reflection on her back was just the light from the rocket. Buuuuut... after seeing her face and her back reflecting from underneath her clothes, maybe Season 2 starts by showing her abilities in some way 🤔 I mean.. everyone assumes it's going to be Jayce or Viktor that does something, but if we've learned anything from Season 1 it's that this show always does the last thing we think will happen

While the cliffhanger was huge and frustrating, it seems this entire season was supposed to be a Jinx origin story, which it was. They have left many loose ends for following seasons, which I'm so hyped about. Also the dinner scene was utterly spectacular, with the song at the ending representing everything that happened in this first season. "I hope you know we had everything When you broke me and left these pieces." Jinx was a monster created in this first season. Lastly, Silco has to be one of the best villains I have ever seen, such a horrifying villain, yet someone who is capable of love, and willing to give up his lifelong dream for his daughter. Truly a masterpiece of an episode.

I love how realistic this show is. A typical hero shouting at their "possessed" or otherwise corrupted companion to come to their senses cliché got turned on its head because all Vi was doing was invoking Jinx's trauma by making her remember and Silco was the one telling her to not listen to it which was actually a good thing because all Vi achieved was her sister going mental and almost killing them both.

Since silco said he was never gonna betray jinx peace was never going to be am option, the council voted for peace based on what jayce said, but he had no idea silco wouldn't agree to all terms, so just this time, jinx didn't ruin anything, she just gave the first strike and solidified the fact that powder was gone a long time ago and she would kid herself anymore. Also, such a coll detail that jinx said vis voice was the only thing keeping her going forward but after what happen, now is silcos voice what keeps her going forward. There still like 5~6 years for her to be like her counterpart in the game (21 years old) so im intrigued about what season 2 is gonna be about, this part of the world or others like noxus.

The vision of a man founded on betrayal. Operating toward independence for his people. And actually on the cusp of achieving it. Sacrifices it all over the very person he _chose_ to rescue. Who grew into a beautiful tragedy, that was _lost_ along the way. Simply by him doing everything to protect and anything to save her. In the end wouldn't nor couldn't commit the act of betrayal towards his very daughter; Jinx. A necessity to break the cycle. Maintaining and upholding his principles was the culmination that led him to not being able to let go of what was for what is and needs to be(his leading principle). To him Jinx's faults truly made her perfect. As her journey mirrored his. Same can be said for Vander with his view of Vi. What a great arc they shared and brought full circle. People who say that jinx ruined the peace detween piltover y zaun did not pay attention to the serie really because the condition that jayce put silco in order for there to be peace between the two cities was that silco deliver jinx to justice, even if jinx in the end of the chapter would not fire her cannon against the council there would be no peace anyway, silco would never do that and jinx would no surrender voulntarily either...so, even without jinx firing there would still be conflict between them, zaun and piltover.

Viktor and Jace are both heroes in the game, and where they are in the game, depiction wise, are more evolved forms of their characters. They def survive. Pretty sure Mel's glowing effect on her back at the end is a latent shield type ability that she doesnt know she has. Pretty sure she isnt really from Noxus. I think she was made a ward as a child after Noxus conquered some place, and raised to believe that she was a real child of Noxus. They def survive and I actually think Mel is going to be a new hero introduced to the game, like a support class of some sort. Prob gonna be released after S2 E1

I felt for Vi. A lot of people say she couldn't accept Jinx and only wanted Powder. I probably see it differently, because much like Vander, it's not that they don't love/accept their sibling, they just had different ideologies and beliefs. You can still love/accept someone, but struggle with the choices they make, especially with the case of Jinx and Silco and some of their questionable activities. For Jinx and Silco, love meant loyalty , and being there no matter what. For Vander and Vi, love meant protecting and sometimes even sacrificing their own self for the "greater good." Both concepts of love are important, but there's a thin line there, and relationships aren't black, white or even grey. Like infinite shade of colors, relationships, values and beliefs holds such complexity that no one blanket statement or concept can stand alone and be deemed what's "right" or the "winner."

At first, i was confused about the shield but then i remembered... those gauntlets are meant for miners not for brawling and the most common accidents in mining are falling rocks. This show is so consistent I love it. (i know vi has a passive that grants her shield)
