I have to note a brilliant moment in this episode. Jinx is humming the same song that she was singing on that same bridge in the opening scene of season one as she shoots an enforcer, mirroring when an enforcer shot her parents.

I assure you that every scene on Arcane is a "detail" :p It's not just art that we can notice in first glance (Shakespeare symbolism on theater ==> politics, Charles Dickens story of two cities and more). Storyline and plot logic is actually much better than it seems despite "archetypal vibes" and still manage make much more faithful adaptation of champs origin than any popular IP destroyed by Hollywood wokness and other enlightened filmmakers (star Wars last trilogy, wheel of time, Witcher and soon Amazon Ring of powers) ===> Of course u can still enjoy watching these, but when u know original work, or just pay attention to details, all of them are really unfaithful, poor to source material and actually just bad/stupid storytelling with visuals ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Arcane is modern art masterpiece with reeeally good plot and amazing storytelling. I recommend to check Primal 2019 ==> interesting approach of storytelling without any dialogues in animation of Genndy Tartakovsky (samurai jack fifth season, The Powerpuff Girls, Dexter’s Laboratory, Hotel Transylvania and more). Sorry people for these maybe unnecessary essay ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Edit I will add that Ekko vs Jinx is also nice touch on his ultimate ability.

What Ekko was silently saying to Jinx, when he pulled out the pocket watch and started swinging it: "Let's play our old game...one last time." And while he was ready to kill Jinx, he wasn't ready to kill Powder. One of the many things I like about Arcane is that there aren't really any heroes or villains. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of characters doing terrible things, but they aren't doing them just to be EVIL. The show does a good job of showing us that each character has reasons behind their actions. It also doesn't push the viewers towards 'right' or 'wrong;' it simply tells the story, shows the characters and their actions, and lets you make up your own mind.

Regarding Rio, my thoughts are that Singed didn't care as much for the creature as he did the properties of the mutation. That's why it was important that the mutation survive, even at the cost of the creature's happiness. That's why "love and legacy are the sacrifices we make for progress."

// **Possible Spoilers Ahead ** \\ // ** Possible Spoilers Alert ** \\ It is only hinted at the end of the finale but another champion of the game (Orianna) might be her daughter. The one he talks about with Silco "I too once had a daughter". This would be a bit of an alteration to the game lore but following Orianna's lore, she had an illness and her father had to replace parts of her body for mechanical parts to the point where she would be a full robot with the shape of the girl. Orianna's father wasn't originally Singed but to fit in Arcane's lore it could perfectly be that Singed started experimenting with shimmer (thats why he separated from Heimmerdinger) in a desperate intent to save Orianna's body. That's why Rio is so important to him, or at least that Rio is alive, wich means he could experiment on Orianna and keep her alive, even if she would be unconscious forever.
@marcps35222 жыл бұрын
And about shimmer, it's not yet clear where it comes from but (Again SPOILERS) we can see a bit of it at the end, in episode 8/9 where we can see a hanging "brain shape" with pipes to extract shimmer. It might be a creature/beeing from the void. A special "region"/parallel dimension in Runeterra. So Rio is not the source of shimmer. It was probably a small creature that got experimented with Shimmer and managed to survive. Why it was important to Singed is explained in my comment above.

There are actual firelights. The bugs are around the tree mostly. One was found in Jinx's workshop. The ones on the bridge were all explosive
@renascienza.bazarclub2 жыл бұрын
About the explosive firelights: In "Happy Progress Day" (04) near of the University entrance I can see that old guy entertaining children with mechanical bugs. Jinx was there in several moments. But later on the same episode in her hideout (she was hearing her own music theme, "Get Jinxed") we see Jinx designing and making tests with the same kind of mechanical bug. Now in episode 07, we see what she was really doing: she weaponized it, taking advantage that this glowing insects are so common on undercity. And yes, the insects are completely mechanic. Alone, a single mechanical bug can't do that much, but combining hundreds of little explosions she can sum the areas of compression delivering a lot of damage. She can even shape the area of destruction, something that no regular bomb can do. Yeah, Jinx is a (bad) genius.

She can ignore the fundamentals, but grasp the causes and effects. There is people like that in real life? Yes, my own father in law was an example. He created his own tools, and could fix almost everything, without any previous training. Interesting detail: the explosive bugs are not really Hextech at anyway. Silco probably worked on gas and coal mines as young, so the poisoned air isn't weird for him.
@th3voice2 жыл бұрын
"So what, Silco's immune?" Nope. Before she entered with the gas canister and closed the door, he breathes in deeply. He conserves breath, speaking slowly, and breathes in only shallowly to keep speaking. That, combined with how used he is to the smog, lets him keep it up until he breathes in through the mask. I also love that as he says "we came from a world where there was never enough to go around..." at the same time it becomes obvious that there is one fewer masks than there are people in the room... not enough to go around :P
@marcps35222 жыл бұрын
Nope. Silco IS immune, or as immune as he can be. This scene is Silco showing them that he never left the underground. He builded the place, got them into a place of power and they left to upper city with more sun and cleaner air (not Piltover but the outskirts). Silco, while he was the most important guy in the underground, never left the place. That's why he looks pale, why he can breath. And that's his message in this scene. "You're blaming me but I brought you here and I never left, you're only living the lives I gave you". And then again, he gives them the right to breath.
@RelaxwithJC2 жыл бұрын
That was my interpretation as well Marc
@th3voice2 жыл бұрын
@@marcps3522 Then why does he very clearly take deep breaths before the smog comes in? Sure, he's more resistant to it than everyone else, but not IMMUNE. That, combined with preparation, lets him essentially ignore it. But if he was completely immune, he would not have USED the mask himself, before dropping it.
@demise02 жыл бұрын
@@marcps3522 I think it's like smoking. Take a hit off a cigarette when you've never before and you choke. But smoke for any amount of time and it no longer bothers your lungs the same. But give up smoking and try again, and the lungs will again be intolerant to it. The gas canister contained the poisoned air of the undercity, probably the really bad air from deeper down like in the fissures. Silco still maintains his office down in the undercity, but the chembarons don't, they're up at the surface. They've lost their tolerance to the toxic air. Silco hasn't. However the toxic air (much like smoking) is still bad for anyone, regardless of tolerance.

What I find amusing about videogames is how health and stamina are handled, like in the case of Viktor. In a human body, specific health problem requires specific solutions. But in videogames, a potion raises health bar as a whole. Videogame medicine is amusing. In Tomb Raider Lara falls from a helicopter and dies. Such a fall would break bones and that would kill a person. But how does she come back to life? CPR. Yes, as if she had choked. Well, that is a videogame. CPR raises the health bar lowered by an impact that breaks bones. Normally every universe has its rules. Star Wars has WWII physics and as long as rules are consistent, that is Ok. In episode 8 those rules were broken when they had range anxiety due to lack of fuel. And in videogame fiction, I always expect videogame medicine. And here you have it. The magic potion to recover health bar.
