I know this video is 6 months old, but as someone who has written multiple essays on Qiyana, her character, psychology, family, and culture, I am SO glad for her to be the focus of a whole video. She's so underrated. Unpopular opinion, but from her bio I feel like we can gather that though not physical, the culture of tradition and heritage made her grow up emotionally neglected, which may explain her borderline sociopathy and attitude.

Even though she's supposed to be latin american, I think her personality is inspired by the "himedere" archetype from anime (basically those cocky rich girls who laugh with their hand above their mouth or something). And yeah she's probably the most toxic champion, she even has "GG EZ" said on her tongue in the True Damage MV lol.

I think that fire is her weakness because the devs would use fire/water/grass for her, but in the league map the only sources of fire are those tiny torches and because of it her fire element would be difficult to use so they changed to rock, this way the player had a lot of places to click to gain that element. I might be wrong but i remember seem this information in some place.

Ixtal is relatively new location added and they had to shove some older characters in like rengar, Zyra and mal so that’s why they are “related” champs

before the Lore of Zyra and Rengar stated " The jungle next to the Desert/Shurima" so they were there before but they made an interesting region for it with Qiyanas release. EDIT: Nidalee's Lore stated that aswell

Qiyana's and Taliyah's elemental abilities seem similar but are really different. Taliyah's magic is natural, she was born with it and it comes to her without any training (Like Annie's fire or Lux's light). Meanwhile, Qiyana's talent is not exactly from birth, it comes from the Axiomata, a type of magic that only exists in Ixtal and allows anyone who has some natural skill and spends enough time studying and understanding the Axioms (Principles? that represent the nature and essence of the elements), to use elemental magic. You could say that Qiyana's magic is more "scientific" while Taliyah's is more "artistic". (If there are any spelling mistakes, please let me know. English is not my first language.)

Malphite is made from a mountain in Ixtal. Rengar is a hunter in the Jungle. And Zyra is someone who's infestating the jungle. (She basically corrupts the greens of the jungle and she's already halfway done)

At the end of 2022 they wanted to change the prestige skins from just being golden chromas to something unique but still similar to the normal skin of that skinline. But in Qiyana's case her prestige skin was designed by Louis Vuitton themselves (i believe), which is why you can see their Logo all over her Ohmlatl. I think La Illusion is one of my favourite skinlines and it also is my favourite of her skins. EDIT: In her voicelines she said to a "lesser Mage" something and the lesser mage was Aatrox, which is correct in her eyes / Runterra ? because anything not elemental is a weaker form of magic. (i remember reading that somewhere) Also Milio is an ixtali champion in connection to Ixaocan so you would learn more about Ixtal if you react to him.

Oh my god I hate her so much haha. She's fun to play, but I find her to be one of the most visually uninspired characters in the game, possibly topped only by Kai'Sa. Her personality is just the icing on the cake (to be fair, I usually like arrogant characters, but I also like those characters having something else going for them).

Qiyana is one of the least played assassins and good riddance. She is intentionally kept very weak because her ultimate IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST CROWD CONTROL ULTIMATES IN THE GAME. It does a bit of damage and its tricky to hit, but for context, almost no other assassin has a massive teamfight starting and team killing ultimate. That kind of ultimate, imo, belongs on crowd control tanks. Some other assassins (Katarina for example), have big team killing ultimates, but they're not big displacement stuns as well. If she's ever good, then she's completely imbalanced because. Old Akali and Swain were champs who were broken if they were ever good in the past as well, but for different reasons. Riot broke some of their own game design rules with her and I don't think it panned out well for her. Those few who main Qiyana are playing league on hard mode. According to the mains subreddit, she's almost always slightly bugged too. I don't know much about it though. Her character herself has almost completely been forgotten by riot after her release as well afaik and honestly I'm not to chuffed about it. She's just a medium to explore Ixtal when they made that area a proper region.

i haven't played for a few months but she was my main champion, it literally is league on Hard Mode. and yea, she stays buggy. it's usually her W that doesn't work properly and it makes you cast the wrong element, then your combo is fucked up and you die 💀 I wonder if they'll ever rework her like swain and akali
