I wasn't a big fan of imagine dragons before either, but I kind of started to check them out more after finding out the lead singer Dan reynolds has dealt with depression since childhood, and has said he recognizes the influence he can have with such a platform as imagine dragons so he tries to bring as much positivity as he can into the world with his career. He's all around a really good person the more you look into him. Aside from that here is a link to an arcane amv involving one of their songs, and a link to one of their newer songs they've released. I agree, the end bit was more of a meme. I still don't like their music that much (believe it or not I was a huge fan of their first album when it first came out) xD but yes I definitely respect their commitment to positivity and they do seem like they're actually passionate about what they do so that's also a plus

Nope, they did not pander to pop culture. The reason why Riot collabs with Imagine Dragons is because the band loves League of Legends and actually plays the game. Also, Arcane is not the first time. The band made the song “Warriors” and MV for Leagues World Championship years ago.. which was used as the event's theme song. As far as I know ID were the ones who approached Riot. Riot is like that, they really show their appreciation to people who actually loves the game. They also collab with Porter Robinson with the same reason. The guy actually is the one who contacted them because he loves the game. Riot is strict with their brand, they turn down offers more often than accepting. Having Imagine Dragons and Porter Robinson is not for the fandom but for those artists to show gratitude for loving the game. PS. Even Linkin' Parks member (drummer) was welcomed to Arcane's premier (he was invited by a friend and he attended because he said he likes Riot). Apparently some of LP members play the game. Some said if the vocalist did not pass away they might have made a song for Riot long ago.

@@hinnyu7748 I agree, like I said, any hate on imagine dragons was more of a meme. Not a fan of their music but still gots a lot of respect for them as people. And riot is super cool about people getting involved in the community. They even encourage creators to use a lot of their intellectual property in their videos without fear of copyright or anything like that. (Idk if this has anything to do with that but this is the only video essay I've done that hasn't been copyright claimed)

I assume you all have seen the first part of the making of series for Arcane "Bridging the Rift". What Riot Games are doing here should be illegal man. Not only do we have one of the best shows ever made period in Arcane, now we get the making of of that show, which is great in itself because of how great the show is, but then the making of itself is incredibly well produced, has an emotional arc to it, gets its own trailer, is incredibly hype and being released staggered in multiple parts. Are you kidding me? How is this even possible?

Imagine Dragons are almost the house band for League of Legends and have collaborated with Riot games on numerous projects along with being avid LOL players. They've been involved with writing songs, performing live at events and more. Imagine Dragons are very much hand in glove with LOL and Riot Games. And, they're really not THAT bad =)

@@antsonstilts1753 of course, had you put it that way the video would have been 15 seconds long and wouldn't have worked, so... here we find the third pillar of this concept: storytelling is a medium. That's not just part of craft - if you have all (or even just multiple) formats at your disposal, choosing the best one to deliver the story you're artistically crafting - and wielding expertise within the possibilities and boundaries specific to that format - is an often overlooked element. Arcane could have been live action. It could have been a radio drama. It could have been a board game. It could have been a series of novels, or short stories published to a blog. Hell, it could have been hand puppets made out of smiley faces drawn on popsicle sticks. It could have been a two hour movie and it could have been 236 youtube shorts episodes released every hour on the hour over a ten day period, or any other number of formats. Riot certainly has used an incredibly broad range of mediums over the course of their existence. And none of those choices, imo, would have worked as well as the medium and format they chose.

people confuse objective identification and description with subjective interpretation and evaluation. a dutch angle is a fact. it is objective. our assumption with what it is supposed to accomplish is then subjectively framed conditions with some objective facts. how it achieves it can be seen as objective, but the problem is that people often use and present an argument to justify how they feel. therefore, subjectivity often bleeds in and takes over their "objective analysis". probably because people view feelings as a sign of vulnerability, and they then use the argument that their opinions are objective. and, when people disagree, it is not so much that they think the facts are wrong, but they are emotionally invested in the validation of their argument. storytelling is even more difficult to discern what is objective because people interface with it through their emotions. how it is produced is objective. a choice for a close up of a smirk, or a hand gesture. lens blurring and its intervals during perhaps a chaotic or disturbing event. the words chosen for dialogue that has subtext in both a story thread and the voice actor to explore. how it succeeds is subjective. ... people don't know what objective and subjective is, and they only actually use it to justify their own argument. ... just a pet peeve of mine.

Wanting to objectively justify feelings or emotions I experienced when in all actuality it doesn't need to be justified. But that's also why I started this channel, to just talk about the objective and subjective aspects of art without taking offense to a differing opinion. one thing tho, imagine dragons are a CORE aspect of arcanes development more or less, as are fortiche and jinx, get jinxed and warriors released within two years and really shot league on the art music direction they have taken ever since. They could quite literally be the reason arcane exists

Good video. The point I agreed with the most is the end. Imagine Dragons is atrocious. Hideous intro, skip it every time. I enjoyed Arcane up until I knew that Caitlyn wouldn't die to Jinx, and lo and behold. I felt that nagging feeling throughout, and no matter how many videos I watched telling me that our main characters aren't protected by plot-armor, I just couldn't enjoy it. I would die for the visuals though. Still anticipating S2.

It is indeed one of the very few bad things about the show .. the fact that everyone who knows the game knows the champs will not die . AND I HATE THAT SO MUCH !! But i think i've read somewhere that the writers said that Arcane is indeed not canon , and they are considering the fact that if killing characters that are champs ingame will improve the story , they will not stay away from it. Tbh its a grey area .. cause they WILL piss ppl off if they do that ...... i myself hate the plot armor.

It wouldn't surprise me if they did kill off any of the champs but I'm honestly not hoping for it unless it DOES improve the story. A lot of shows like killing off characters just to prove that they can which is fine but I'd prefer those things to actually mean something, and so far just about everything that has happened in this show adds something so I gots faith in the writers

The reason why the writers aren't gonna kill off champions is the same reason why you don't kill off Bruce Wayne before he puts on the cowl or Clark Kent before he leaves the farm. SPOILER: The reason why Caitlyn was never gonna die is because she's not the fucking sheriff yet. The reason why Vi's not gonna die is because she's not an enforcer yet. Ekko hasn't invented the Zero Drive. Viktor hasn't brought forth his Glorious Evolution. Heimerdinger is still too afraid to handle hextech. Good writing isn't premised on whether or not you kill off characters. The reason why people will be pissed off is because these characters have compelling pre-written lore and some dumbass in charge thought it'd be clever to kill them off for shock value

These characters shouldn't be killed off for just shock value and having a full character arc is better writing than death (unless the death serves a larger purpose within the story) but let's also be civil about it.
