I also find it very interesting how all of them have simple clothes on, almost bare, no tattoos on their bodies (Vi and Jinx, their tattoos are gone) it's like everyone is being shown at their most vulnerable, laid bare in this season, stripping down the statues that stood still and firm (in the opening credits of the first season) for something more alive, more realized. I think the characters are going to change and evolve the most this season, which makes sense since it's the last season, the story getting finished, so they don't have to hide anymore behind their masks.

Mel looked like a little kid putting on a show in that meeting. Stepping up close to that one member in the wheelchair, she was not only invading his space but positioning herself to look down on him-Ambessa (her mom) does that kind of thing all the time, but Ambessa’s casually lounging there, already confident that she has the same man in the palm of her hand (and she literally pushed him into position). Mel held her ground, but that small victory immediately felt hollow, more like a point she was trying and failing to prove to her mother. “Look at me! I’m a strong leader too!” “Of course you are, sweetie. Anyway…”

The first POV presented in a story will generally take priority in our minds. By starting with Piltover (and the Piltover characters) this season -- in a place and moment where, as you noted, it's hard to distinguish it from a wrecked building in the Undercity -- the writers flip the script from season 1. They're encouraging identification with the topside characters and their loss, even if it's tempered by the knowledge that they brought it on themselves to a great extent. It's also worth noting that through all of season 1, while both topside and Zaun had orchestral score throughout their scenes, the Undercity was where all of the songs on the soundtrack took place (with the exception of a brief moment in ep. 5 where "Enemy" plays while Marcus sulks... but then again, Marcus was kind of the Undercity's guy in Piltover, or at least Silco's). Pop music isn't generally something that arises from the high and mighty. This season, we hear both songs in the first episode with the action set firmly in Piltover. As the season progresses, I suspect little to no distinction between the sister city-states in that regard. They're both in danger from "the threats beyond our walls."

@@psyculturists I can't take credit for the original observation re: the songs in S1--that came from a great YT video from Cel-shaded Music Theory. But it definitely had me raising an eyebrow when the first song began right after the intro!

Keep in mind that as of this point in the story we assume that Jayce has not learned the full story of how Sky died. If Jayce had known the Hexcore had already taken a life he might have been more reluctant to save Viktor in that moment. Although who knows how anyone could process grief and trauma about losing their best friend in that moment.

This is the peak of this series. the realistic dialogs and how the characters react to the things, based on their backgrounds etc. There are no true black and white characters. They are all grey. And these attacks are a way to see how they are throwing everyone under the rug. An attack by a few individual and then we blame everyone that lives there. Just like we have seen with the war right now. People started to shun people from Russia just because. No matter if they had anything to do with the war or not. Fear is a powerful tool and it is easy to make people narrow sighted.

I'm so glad you're recording Arcane reactions, it's like a breath of fresh air where I can see a person invested in characters as much as I do. Love it and looking forward to see all of them! While playing the video, you tend to look to the chat at the same time and miss some of important emotions and movements, but overall I am more than happy!

"what if i took that shot?" being a question that haunts Caitlyn is made 100x times worse when you think about the fact that Vi begging her to spare her sister is the reason she didn't take it. And even though it seems to me like Cait blames herself more than she blames Vi that's gotta affect their relationship. Like she might not blame Vi herself for wanting to save her sister but idk... maybe she blames her feelings for Vi that clouded her judgement in that moment and led to the death of her mother. Next time... taking the shot, no hesitation!!!

1:54:53 as a league player since 2014 i give the same advice that some pro players have said to new people, dont play it. 😂😂😂 Joke aside play it with friends because it can be pretty toxic and too tryhirds players even in low levels. sadly is the bad sad of Pvp games.

Tru. I haven't seen any content creator actually try to endorse playing LoL. You can just watch Ludwig Bronze streams and it is miserable. I play the game too so I can say fo sure most league players needs help. Its free content to just map the decision making and reaction of players in game. I play on mute and can still somehow sense the toxicity coming from the chat lmao

Immediately went to check out the rest on Twitch after finishing this one xD I remember discovering your Season 1 analysis and spending a few consecutive days just watching through the entire thing Unlike some complaints I actually wished you paused and rewound more on certain parts 👀 still pretty satisfied with your insights, and some people in the chat were also pretty perceptive and I just had to screenshot their comments for myself! Though, at least one other commenter, I think featured in this video, kind of irked me :/ but I guess that's just how it is

I feel so bad for Jayce he is basically Oppenheimer... But even worst because at elast after the first bomb Oppenheimer didn't need to work on it but in Jayce's case he is the only one that knows how to work with hextech so they need him to create more bomb.

it would be so much better if you paused as the scene ends because you often stop and speculate about things that are literally explained in that scene… and also pausing so much during a scene doesn’t let you enjoy it and take it as it was intended :( love your videos, im super happy you’re doing season two

I don't really think of Cait's actions as aspects of her strength in everything she does this episode. I think a lot of us if given the choice between breaking down and dealing with grief or taking action to right a perceived wrong we'd take the latter. Caitlyn may be avoiding her own grief by proactively seeking a solution to it, and I think if I was in a position like her where I both understood the cause of my loved one's death and had the power to actively do something about it I might choose similar actions, and I don't think it's because I'm strong. Rather I think it's because feeling like you're doing something allows you to compartmentalise that grief, put it aside for a while so you can do the big important task because feeling useful is way easier to stomach than feeling those feelings, especially when you feel like you could have done something. A big loss in my life this year where I found a close friend dead sort of gave me some perspective on how that feels, and how it was easier to do the things leading up to his memorial service like cleaning out his room and packing up his things or planning with his family than to actually sit and face my feelings. There's always lingering feelings that you could have done more, even if the reality is that you did what you could when you could. Caitlyn has all that guilt and has got it in her head that she could have prevented it even though it wasn't her fault. Caitlyn also has a big goal that feels like some sort of justice, I don't think it will give her closure if she succeeds and I don't think it would solve the tension brewing between Piltover and Zaun, but damn it's a good distraction. Maybe it's not particularly healthy, although I do think it's okay to take grief slowly as long as you actually do end up taking the time to process and understand your feelings, but it's very realistic to push things down in favour of taking that next action or to present a brave face. None of this means Caitlyn isn't a strong character, just that actions that seem strong can actually be avoidant, and allowing vulnerability doesn't take away from your strength. I actually think her strongest moment in the entire episode was when she explained to Jayce how she understood how easy it is to fall into hatred, which made the ending after the attack all the more upsetting for me, because all of them are crossing lines that it's going to be difficult to come back from by creating this team

The people you help and work with. Do you stop them every 2 seconds while they are trying to tell their story and launch into an analysis of every single word? Or do you at least let them finish a sentence so that the overall context is what's being analysed? At least finish a scene before the deep, dive instead of taking this masterpiece of film making and ripping it to shreds, by pausing almost quite literally every 2 freaking seconds. Okay gonna be honest here. The analysis of the openings at the start of season 1 and the accuracy was great to watch and impressive in the insight and prediction. But at the season went on it became less so and got to the point of just being irritating though sheer repetition. Watching this. 54 minutes in. Twice the length of the full episode and we aren't even past the opening titles yet. Now this just feels forced, and the vast swath of topics and aspects over analysed to death, and then analysed again ruin any "prediction" or foresight aspect. Now, any predictions are no longer impressive in their insight, because if you just spout every conceivable outcome then it is no achievement that some of them hit the mark. This is torture to experience.
