Ekko x Powder makes sense. Ekko x Jinx, on the other hand... i mean, she killed at minimum 5 firelights right in front of him. This feels forced and out of character for Ekko to just put aside the dead given his propensity for painting murals. Feels like fanfiction.

Its been confirmed that the "deleted" scenes (in quotations because they were never animated, just some concept art) are canon. This means that Ekko explained the whole alternate timeline thing to Jinx, drew a mural showing her the Powder in that timeline, and bonded with her deeply when preparing for the attack. But the final events of the alternate timeline were the actual revelation for him. Remember that when he first appeared, he was ready to fight Powder as he did in fact hate her. He slowly realized what had happened and the whole alternate timeline thing. "Ma meillurie ennemie" Explains his feelings for her, how basically he loves Powder but hates Jinx and the emotional conflict he's having. Hence why she's the worst blessing but the best curse and all that. But it doesn't end there. In the second-to-last scene when they kiss looking over the city, he thanks her for helping him change perspective "I was so caught up in what wasn't, that I never stopped to think what COULD be". This is a reference to Jinx in his timeline. He was so focused on hating Jinx that he forgot Powder (the love of his life) still existed, and that they in fact were the same person. Because in the end of the day, Jinx is just a version of Powder that was heartbroken but never mended. Note how in the last fight, when Jinx flies in the Time Bomb with Ekko and the Firelights, every time you see her shooting, she isn't laughing like a maniac or even smiling. The opposite. She's not fighting because she wants to hurt people like she used to, but rather she's fighting because she HAS to in order to help them. That and she's not a loose cannon anymore, she used to basically hold the trigger down recklessly until she ran out of bullets, but in the whole final act she was super methodical with who/what/where she was shooting. He showed her that Jinx and Powder are the same person and that Jinx was just a coping mechanism. He gave her definitive proof that she truly WASN'T a jinx but rather a victim of really unfortunate circumstances who decided to take sole responsibility for everything bad that happened. Thats what we KNOW and has been confirmed. Now, what happens afterwards is all theories until they produce the other 2+ series that they have been hinting at. MY theory, again just a theory, is that after winning the war and sending his goodbye to Heimerdinger with the note (its up for grabs whose name was on it), Ekko left with Jinx in the airship seen in the last scene. At least that's where the plot flow takes me. Piltover/Zaun are united after the events, with Sevika now on the council representing Zaun and Cait+Vi to help, there (at least for the time being) isn't much for Ekko to do as leader of the Firelights, considering his whole thing was vigilantism and fighting corruption. To quote Ekko "Sometimes taking a leap forward means leaving a few things behind" and "I learned from someone that, no matter what happened in the past, it's never too late to build something new, someone worth building it for"
