It just shows how great a show Arcane is, to show the humane side of the character to make people sympathize with an obvious villain. Throughout the show we can see so many situations where it all could have gone so much different - so much better for Powder/Jinx, until she reaches the point of no return, that is underlined with this incredibly powerful song explicitly stating: "What could have been?..." Shivers mate...

I absolutely love arcane, this show was absolutely beautiful I loved everything about it: the characters, the story, the scenes, everything about it was just absolutely stunning. She didn’t want to experience everything that she is experiencing now. She wanted to be happy next to Vi, but this was not destined to come true. This is a lacerated dream. Her soul was mired in the darkness of madness, shrouded in despair forever and ever. Jinx's life is a tragedy.
