Arcángel was born in East Harlem, NYC, though his parents are Dominican but the family moved to Puerto Rico when he was 12 years old so he considers PR his home. Ie found success back in 2000’s. That said, he has always said he is a beautiful mix of both PR and RD because although he grew up in PR, everyone in his house was from RD so his actual upbringing was very culturally Dominican.
