By now, I'd really just rather have a completely new game that's has the same features and such...with some cleaning up of dialogue and such. The flaws of the game go way beyond just bugs. There were just a lot of bad design elements that I'd rather not have at all. Enough that by the time everything is resolved, you might as well have just started from scratch with better code anyway.

You could use perfumes to decrease prices as well. Price is affected by Reaction, which is affected by Beauty

About 14- you don't need to drink another potion of intelligence, instead you can buy tech manuals in Tarant corresponding to the thing you want to make. Oh yeah, also about moving in fast turn-based combat- it seems that in this mode the game "teleports" your character instead of actually moving them, so in practice you can easily avoid traps, unless you end your move on space occupied by a trap. Really handy in BMC Mines and other dungeons.

wow amazing tip, I didn't know about tech manuals and just read about them now. That would mean, a person can save leveling points because one can gain the necessary expertise schematic weapons/gears without putting points into tech. A tech build is usually harder to play, but adding these tech manuals would benefit drastically and sparks in my brains are firing to potentially create a new Tech build video in the near future.

As this video isn't that old, I would have a request/suggestion: it would be nice to have a video guide on how to gain Velorien's blessing (i.e. the All's Father's blessing), possibly as early as possible in the game. I don't find it anywhere on youtube, and any somewhat comprehensive guide on getting the most useful blessings early, in general, would be pretty nice imho. Thanks for your videos!

I love to rob the blacksmith in shrouded hills. Makes the early game a bit easier.

how do you do it? It use to allow dynamite placement when the blacksmith sleep but am not sure if doing do would not trigger guards to attack.

So go to shrouded hills (obviously) stand outside the blacksmith. Advance time to evening. Then advance time 2 hours. He should turn his back and go to bed. Run inside his room in the back when the door opens. Advance time until morning. Then he should leave. At this point, I unequip weapons start bashing the barrel next to his bed. You might need to try a few times to get it right so he doesn’t attack you. You now have should have his full inventory, including gold. Hope this helped and sorry for the long response.

He should be standing OUTSIDE his bedroom. He should walk up and walk out. So you should be able to punch open the barrel. Don’t try it when he’s sleeping he will wake up and attack.

there is a bug that allowed me to get to level 30 in the first 30 minutes of the game. The bug with the quest with the broken camera. But no one seems to talk about it. Seems like it is not very well known bug

@@jessesgamereviewstipsandst5517 I haven't played this game in almost 15 years man, so not quite sure, but it was something like this. You need to have the key from Ristezze room, and when you go to speak to him and ask him about the ring, he will ask you for the boot of bessie toone or the camera. you give him the camera and you earn exp. Then, go to the bar, drink some alcohol until you are dumb (intelligence below 4 points I believe) and come back to him. Now, because of the low intelligence, you will be given different conversation options. So you can ask him again about the ring, and he will ask you again about the camera, you give it to him, you earn again experience, then steal it again, talk to him again, give him the camera again and so on. In about 20 mins you will be around level 25. I was saving the game at this point and tried bunch of different builds. Life was good.

Drink 2 bottles of wine AFTER giving him the camera when asking about the ring. 3. Retrieve the camera from the chest in his room and talk to hin to give him the camera again ad infinitum.

I remember my go to build would often be some kind of tech character and get the Staff of K'an T'au as early as possible in the game with the trap detector item. I recently tried playing it again, but I played this game so much when it came out, I know every detail, every trick, and every secret. So I can't bring myself to play it anymore. :( I used to make bugfixes for the game back in the day (I think it fixed about 30 or so bugs) before Drog came with a vastly better bugfix pack that basically fixes everything that needed fixing, without too much vanilla changes.

I'm kind of overwhelmed with all the skills. I've played lots of rpg's, especially older ones, but I'm a little confused. Any suggestions? You seem to be the perfect person to ask.

@@williamgregg6339 Well, I'd say there are a couple of main playstyles I would recommend for a beginner playthrough. Easiest: If you go magic, make sure to get enough magick aptitude and use Harm as the main damage spell (harm damage scales with aptitude making it one of the strongest spells), you can pretty much do whatever else with magic what you want. Make sure to pick up some magic staves with extra mana on them and you'll never run out of mana. (mage, mystic and arcane staffs sold by wise women are nice to haves as a magic caster to use as mana batteries) Tech is quite a lot harder. If you go tech as a beginner, throwing skill and molotov cocktails/explosives is a great fallback to cover for lack of damage from other places. So even if you go gunslinger and find it difficult in some parts of the game, you got explosives to fall back on for hard encounters. They can make encounters very easy. 2 or 3 points in throwing and some training is enough to make good use of explosives. Also, don't forget to pick up the dog on first ashbury visit. Other than that, there are plenty of builds that can be very strong, like backstab builds for example. But it would depend if you like the playstyle. Basic neutral fighter builds (melee/dodge focused) can be quite strong as well, just make sure to have enough strength for whatever weapon you want to use. Personally, I found those builds a bit too boring though. I wouldn't recommend bows as a beginner though. Most other builds that often rely on allies or other damage sources will make it hard for you to level, as you level much quicker if you are the one doing all the damage. Most of these kinds of builds I wouldn't recommend for first playthroughs. Though there is something to be said about going debutante/20 charisma build and getting everyone on your party (at 20 charisma, good/evil aptitude is ignored). Sure the exp is slow, but it is quite fun to bring people in your party that wouldn't normally want to join together.

I never got to complete my playthrough but had fun playing this years ago. 1 funny memory I had was punching the door down to the magic shop and trying to rob it at night and the mage woke up on a failed lockpick of a chest or some shit like that and he summoned a flaming golem and I fought back but died hahah. These exploits break the game so I dont think I'll use them.

I've done the same but stopped after the first few failed attempts. Yes only use what you prefer to play with since the game has so many exploits that never really got fixed

You think its possible to make a support main character that heals and has harm and necromancy for quests with good social skills that acts primarily as a healer and buffer? As well as debuffs or crowd control for enemies?

I tried custom skill points level up paths on my allies but the AI didn't seem to cast many of the spells so this might not work or would need more testing.

I generally refuse to play in anything but real-time combat mode. It's a valid option not to do so, but to me it still feels like a cheat and not playing as intended.

Time Cain, one of the designers for the game, takes the opposite viewpoint. He said real time was added because of the multi-player feature the company wanted and that, if ever handled a remake/remaster, he'd remove real time all together. Different strokes for different folks I suppose.
