Hi, I noticed the inputs were all rasters, is it possible to add vector data and create rules? (i.e. high score if within 1 km of main road, low score if more than 10 km from a main road, etc). Also in a previous suitability type tool we found you had to create a database for the rasters before doing the suitability analysis, this meant the rasters were fixed any update to rasters broke the analysis (it wasn't dyanamic), has this changed?

This works only with raster data. You have to convert from vector first or build rasters with tools that produce raster output, like euclidian distance

I really wish there was a better explanation for running the model in the end. I don't understand how you are able to visualize the 2 regions before you even run the model. Also, the region shape is entered as "circle" but both your end results are more of a square. Is there a better step by step somewhere for running the model to know about all these different rows like "Utility trade off", "region minimum area" etc. I am also curious about the other tab "Environments" next to the parameters. I would appreciate if you could let me know where can I get that help?

Unless I'm missing something, isn't this just the weighted index overlay tool which already exists within Spatial Analyst?

You are correct, the Suitability Modeler is built on the basic principles of suitability modeling which the Weighted Overlay tool uses to a limited extent. The premise underlying the Suitability Modeler is that a model is a dynamic process. At each step of the workflow, you are provided with dynamic feedback through interacting Maps, Plots, and Panes so that you can make informed decisions on the parameters you specify and how they will affect the output. The Modeler allows you to apply linear and non-linear transformation functions, the seamless integration of categorical and continuous input, the ability to identify the optimal sites from the suitability map, and the capability to explore the quality of the model in an integrated environment. It is difficult in a short video to convey to experienced suitability modelers all the benefits of the Modeler. We encourage you to use the Modeler and hopefully you will see the benefits. We look forward to your feedback.
