The best bands either sound great or even better live. Arch enemy is one of those bands and Alyssa is one of those singers. I like a lot of different genres in metal and I was just introduced to this one. People say this is death metal but they're wrong. Yeah they might sound like it, but they don't sing about Satan or evil or anything like that. Actually they have a lot of very very interesting things to say. So far my favorite is you will know my name.

I THINK I CAN ADD ARCH ENEMY TO MY MOUNT RUSHMORE OF FAVORITE BANDS. As an old school hard rocker I normally don't groove the scream type vocals BUT THIS REALLY WORKS. The music is just everything metal is all about, the musicianship is awesome and high level. The stage presence and setting outstanding. The songs all blockbusters. And this babe doing the vocals is outstanding. IS THIS THE WONDER WOMAN OF METAL? tHE WHOLE BAND AND THE WHOLE THING un freakin believeable.I dont care what rock mindset you come from old school Sabbath/Deep Purple or Marilyn Manson/Gorgoroth or tech profficient Yngvie/Steve Vai or a steel edged Iron Maide/Priest/ Accept everyone can find something in this band. Arch enemy has been around for a long time.. mid 90s!! Very good band.. they originally started with a dude singing for em. Then angela took over vocals for awhile now alissa is the singer and jeff (shred god) joined when alissa did!!!! Theyre stacked

I'm an old metal guy and love this music, but can't get past the growly cookie monster vocals. Alissa is obviously very talented. I just wish she'd mix it up a bit and sing clean or Halford/Dickenson style. Hey, I said I'm old. Lol

She will for sure get more cleans in the songs, but also deeper growls. By going deeper it makes her "normal" AE sound clean almost 😁. She's doing some awesome Randy Blythe growls in "the race" and "as the pages burn" in 2018 shows and onwards. Sounds really nice. Hey, it works for me. 😁 AE🤘

The lifeless look on the rest of the band while playing kinda reflects how lifeless this band has become... Black Earth band (original AE vocalist) is what Arch enemy once was and forgot how to be - itself. War Eternal was the nail in the coffin and Khaos legion mediocre at best...
