Longsword speedruns always make me wanna use longsword. I cant give up my big numbers on greatsword though Once i do everything in iceborne maybe ill try out some ls for a while tho

Lots of small numbers is just as fun, if not even more so for me personally. Maybe you'd like Hammer or Power Axe style charge blade though if you really need big booms.. Benefit is that imo, if you can consistently beat MR monsters with greatsword, then you can probably beat them with anything. GS requires the highest level understanding of enemies to be effective

The attacks of longsword can't use slugger because they don't do KO dmg, so reddit was probably right. Here, he uses the Impact Mantle, which makes every attack from every weapon do KO dmg and therefore makes it useful (even in multiplayer). You'll notice that the KO jewels are only slotted in the Impact Mantle itself so it's activated when he needs it to be.
