I like how this is Velkhana theme, mashed up with all the key Iceborne themes in order, while storyline ending theme notes play almost though the entirety of it. This is it. This is the "farewell" fight of Iceborne, and the last memory to remember it by.

I think both Seregios and Velkhana are great designs, but they do indeed suffer from the same problem: They are overshadowed by the flagship of the base game and don’t have enough instant “cool” factor to compensate. Like Seregios feels more like a regular monster than a flagship, and Velkhana is another Elder Dragon in a game full of cool Elder Dragon designs.

AT Velkhana is basically saying, “WE aren’t done yet, WE have one last hunt. So let us end it ALL” To put things into perspective, AT Velkhana came after Fatalis in the timeline, meaning if these AT hunts are in any way canon then we don’t know if the hunters survive THIS hunt.

This music fills me with motivation. I have come a long way since starting MHW, and become an expert a number of weapon types and adept in the rest. The one I started with and mained all the way through base MHW was my bow, and it holds a special place in my heart. When AT Velkhana reveals herself, I will pick up my bow once more, and end MHW the way I began it. One final challenge.

This fight is poetry. After soloing Alatreon and Fatalis, I felt like I’d won. I felt that I was well equipped and skilled enough to take on anything in the game, and realistically I was. I finally decided to try out this quest and man, the first few notes of the music really showed me that this was more than I had expected. It wasn’t long before I started noticing how tough this was going to be, and more importantly that despite everything beforehand I was still imminently in danger. But I won, with two minutes on the clock and with a heart rate the game hadn’t made me feel since Fatalis. One last dance at the place where Winter sleeps.

Velkhana's theme is definitely drawing inspiration from Mars of Holst's Planets. You can hear the iconic rhythm in the cellos, and also some bits of the brass parts are really reminiscent of the brass part in Mars.

I so badly wish I was good at animation I always make up scenes in my head for songs and other media that play out like movies, and this is no exception I just don’t have the capacity to animate well (or the time [or the stuff needed]) Example: hunter sits with Velkhana for a bit, reminiscing with them. After realizing they’ve been rambling, the hunter stands and says “...May I have this dance?” and bows before Velkhana. Velkhana accepts, they take their positions at 0:00-0:12, and the battle begins

I just love the themes from AT Velkhana and AT Nergigante. Both inspire the hunter and represent the monster completely. But what I like the most is the real difference between the two: AT Nergi theme basically says in your face: “This is my world, this is my game, no stupid shit. Face me if you can, because I'll punch your face really hard” This theme talk about a really challenge, between Nergi and the Hunter, an brutal battle, just like the elder dragon it represents. But AT Velkhana's theme says something completely different. It's graceful and cold, but it's also reminiscent of memories, fights, monsters, and even dialogue all your way through, not just Iceborne, but the entire game. The fight is a beautiful memory, where both try their best not to be forgotten. And at the end of the fight, the theme also says something else, as does Velkhana himself: “Don't forgive me. Don't forgive your journey.” Capcom made a beautiful work.

In some parts of the song you really get a sense of finality, that the end is coming and coming quickly for one of you. That and during the theme there are bits of all three of Velkhana'd themes blended in. This is a great way to end the expansion. Amazing fight as well, a nice challenge even in end game gear, she is relentless.

Did u knew That they went very detailed on Velkhana The first one was Nergigante But they went a extra mile with Velkhana From grabbing a lot of sounds of ice and crusts breaking To actually recording how ice break and explodes and even grows. How it will grow on Velkhana For me My favorite element is ice And seeing how deep and beyond they went with iceborne

Something people forget about: Barring multi element elders. Velkhana is the strongest ice element elder as kushala does wind it just so happens to use wind on ice usually giving it icy properties.

I find beauty where no one else does.. Edit: I have never felt so much appreciation for a game. I started up with monster hunter 2 for the psp. I played monster hunter for most of my life. So it’s kinda sad that we won’t get another one for awhile. By the time the next one comes out who know’s where we will be. I hope we all find our way back in the next world to hunt once again.

My friends and I hated Velkhana at first. But as the hunt went on she too grew onto us. The majesty she presents and the beauty of her icy attacks. She's a wonderful flagship. I have yet to battle Arch...but I look forward to one last dance in the New World. She awaits at Elders Recess from what I can tell...same as where she was first met.
