You forgot to mention they also live in the human gut causing great havoc to our digestive system such as constipation, SIBO & leaky gut.
@kristamclean Жыл бұрын
You are so exact, they live within our colon as do amoeba, hookworm and tapeworm. Causing gut issues that cause disease 🦠 . Take Emma supplement to rid yourself of these deadly bacteria

Thanks for the video, as a biology teacher it is still hard to make my students comprehend the domain of Archaea. This video explains it just right and made me giggle along the line a few times. Certain to share this with my fellow science teachers. Thanks from Belgium.

Thanks. Really nice video. To my opinion one of the most fascinating living creatures on our planet. As a biology student I've pretty fallen in love with these little organisms.

What are the life stages of Archaea?
@saurabhmangal63226 жыл бұрын
Can there be three way splits at all...? 1:28 clearly shows Archea and Eucarya being on 'one side' and Bacteria on the other....so the old classification of its bacteria or 'non-bacteria' wasn't entirely incorrect.
@HaleyPelletier6 жыл бұрын
You're right, it's not entirely incorrect -- there was an initial divergence between Bacteria and "everything else," as seen in the image at 1:28. The "everything else" diverged into Archaea and Eukarya later on.

Amazing, great video! The salt ponds always fascinated me around San Fran, I had no idea what caused them, I guess I figured they were different liquids like oil or some sort of drainage, I never would have guessed the different colors were just the type of Archaea that were thriving depending on the salinity changes, that is awesome to think about! Thank you!
@staceygruver19695 ай бұрын
But now, there is the huge question of if we are just a branch of archaea or a separate branch, so again this is completely new and papers on both sides are peer reviewed and both claim victory.

I had always wondered why the salt ponds in the San Francisco Bay were different colors!

1:18 above species is race, cultivar or breed
@HaleyPelletier6 жыл бұрын
I'm having trouble finding any sources with this information. If you could add some in the comments here I'd love to take a look.
@saurabhmangal63226 жыл бұрын
@@HaleyPelletier Just look up the meaning of these and it is obvious :)...differences do exist at Gene/dna level yet the species is same. For animals it is called 'breed' e.g. all dogs, be it a Chihuahua or a dalmatian, belong to a single species; for plants it is called 'cultivar' e.g. the 'type' of banana we eat today is most likely a cavandish and for humans it is called race.

oh wow, thanks for answering :D, your video was really good, now I'm all crazy trying to understand Archaea, because it doesn't fit in my mind how particular they are, for example extremophiles, or that so far no discovered archaea produces a disease!!! :O
