C R I studied under Dr. Mcguire and if i remember correctly there was a no connection or very little of a connection. I think i remember mississippi culture having more contact with the southeast. while the southwestern prehistoric people having connections to california groups and mesoamericans

Seeing the pole climbing clowns in taos come down was cool AF one made it to the top of the pole . That feast is actually coming up here in a couple months I may go check It out. Heard they do the same in picuris as well. Haven't heard of that anywhere else , it's crazy how the northern most pueblos are the ones who kept that going. I would have figured from that that it started or was brought, whatever from some place or places to the north not way to the south.
