It also has access to Focus Energy, meaning if it holds a Scope Lens after using it, all attacks become critical hits. Ergo, you can spam Draco Meteor and bypass the offensive drops every time.

also don't forget, it has body press! you can take a hit, get a free +1 defense boost with stamina, and then turn around and use it offensively. in doubles, you could do the strat where you have your own jolteon throw a pin missile at it to get to +4 and then just start dropping bombs

I built one set as a lead with H-Electrode in doubles. H-Electrode outspeeds a ton and can learn bullet seed, so I slap a Loaded Dice on it and hit Arch with bullet seed for +4/+5 defense buff right off the bat. Because of this I was able to justify giving Arch no Defense EVs and instead investing more for special defense and HP to make it an overall better mixed tank (more folks will try to hit it with special moves anyways). Then on the second turn you can either have H-Electrode set up rain dance or volt switch into a Drizzle mon.

The power creep has been ridiculous in Gen 9. With weather support, this is just a better thunder with zero down sides or like having a slightly stronger electric solar beam with +1 sp attk boost. Honestly, Electro Shot makes me wish they’d buff Solar Beam to give the special atk boost turn 1 as well, since that’s now 2 moves that operate like that. The only thing is, the amount of Pokémon that gain access to solar beam is definitely higher then both electro shot (no duh) and meteor beam combined.

I don’t know if you take suggestions, but I think it would be really cool if you tried Stamina max SpDef assault vest Archaludon with body press next to beat up friend guard maushold to create a super strong difficult to kill steel dragon type that can also Draco meteor with a little SpAtk investment, and then have Sinistcha in the back. Right now I’m using Archaludon, Maushold, Incineroar, Trick room Sinistcha, belly drum snorlax, and I’m trying to find a 6th, I’ve tried icy wind Iron Bundle, icy wind throat spray Primarina, which both are for some speed control and ground type killing. Primarina makes up for a fighting weakness the team struggles with and is bulkier, and penguin is faster and stronger. I’m also going to try scarf water Urshifu for ground type killing and some offense that doesn’t need setup. I think unkillable Archaludon is so much fun to use and incin’s pivoting works so well with Sinistcha hospitality.

Please try out stamina body press archaludon next to beat up fezendipity. Archie's steel typing negates toxic chain and it surprises your opponents for sure. I like to start with another mon next to the phesant, maybe spend the first turn setting up the battlefeild with icy wind or something, then switch in archie on the next turn and smack it with beat up. You get the +4 and usually itll take a smack from the opponent too to get it to +5. Tera Fighting body press absolutely crushes. 😅
