Archbishops’ Council lies about GMC in battle for secret clergy discipline tribunals

To ensure continuing secrecy of Church of England tribunals, the Archbishops’ Council falsely states that GMC hearings are held in private.

Bishops talk about transparency, but when it exposes them as incompetent, unjust, vindictive, and downright unChristian, secrecy is the order of the day so that errors of judgment, mistakes, failure to act and incompetence is hidden, and hopefully swept under the carpet.

Remarkable really; the proposed amendment seemed very reasonable to me. It didn't discount hearings in private where necessary, and it's difficult to understand why the Council want to retain only private hearings, unless there is something it doesn't want observed by others. That smacks obviously of overbearing control, secrecy and obfuscation. Hard to justify without good reasons.

Raised within the Church of England during the 1960s (late mother a Scots Episcopalian), with the wonderful sermons of a 'scholar'cleric', were I to be presented with this meeting, and discussion, as an example of 'Christianity-in-action', I would be baffled. Surely this is CHRISTianity reduced to CHURCHianity; and even further diminished by reducing the Church of England to a 'Church-of-Clergy'? I write as a retired Registered Nurse; and - following the coerced injecting of healthy human beings by Nurses, with new products having little data, in violation of 'Firstly, do no harm', and all Medical Codes, national and international - I do not consider the Nursing & Midwifery Council competent to police standards in Nursing. Is the GMC any better; regardless of whether its meetings are held in public, or not? Likewise, did not the bishops of the Church of England lock the parish churches of England to the parishioners of England? Surely, God is like Jesus of Nazareth; and the Church should be promulgating how to enable him to be relevant in a secular and diverse 'world' which is kinder to many people than is the Church? How is this assembly any different from a meeting of The Women's Institute? Should it be?

Telling a lie logically involves an intention to deceive or gross negligence in stating supposed facts. Neither of these, I think have been shown to obtain here. Telling an untruth is a necessary but not a sufficient condition for lying.
