Built in 1926 by architect John DeLario, this stunning hillside mansion is an epitomic example of Spanish-colonial design in southern California-and was once home to the 'Queen of Pop' Madonna.

It’s true. Those houses all have flat roofs, ceiling to floor windows, and of course an infinity pool. They look like they’re all made for ikea furniture. It became very cookie cutter/predictable after a while.

The views and the grounds of this property are just spectacular! That romantic tower bedroom with the view of the lake and the homeowner waking up to the call of the birds just exudes fairy tale vibes.

This is one of my favorite periods for architectural buildings. I've always adored the Spanish and Moorish styles. This is a stunning home. I love both the interiors and exteriors.

For such a large house, each room feels cozy, and steeped in history. I prefer the view of the lake...it looks like Italy. I love that the current owner took advantage of the Moorish style, and enhanced it with all the lovely fabrics. I definitely prefer this to those slick marble, steel, and glass mansions with no heart. My house is much smaller, but the colored tile, arches, nooks, and built-ins give it much the same feel. Great in-depth tour.

Californian architects have taken the best decision back then in sticking with spanish revival style for those hills, it looks marvellous! Just hope the new owner to like traditional interior, because the current one did a great job, so articulated.

I always thought that this was Madonna's most beautiful home. It seemed to be her style as she looks loves Spanish style things. I actually loved how she had it painted pink and yellow stripes. Even though it should have been intense, it really wasn't. I think she probably left because this house was spoiled for her because it's where her stalker Robert Hopkins broke in and got into the garden. He was only stopped from making it inside the house because her security spotted him and manage to shoot him in the leg so that he was stopped from making it any further into the grounds.

Please respect history, this mansion has more stories to see and to tell than you can ever imagine. It would be a desaster to tear it down or rebuild it to these modern mansions with no heart & atmosphere. The magic of this place is gone forever when they change it. Have you been there?

This style reminds me of a palace I once worked in, this was a palace owned by a Spanish viceroy of the Americas and once owned by a rich moor before the year 1264. This place is HUGE its arround 2500m2 or 26909 sq ft and it is located in my city, in the South of Spain.

Madonna wrote my #1, absolute favorite album of hers, Bedtime Stories, there. She sold it because a stalker scaled her wall with the intention of killing her. She wasn’t home at the time but her security shot the guy. I believe he’s still in a ward. God, I’d give anything to walk around this house and just look around. Haha. Thank you for this video.

He was in prison for several years but has shown no sign of improvement so he’s in some kind of psychiatric place somewhere. A few years ago it was in the news that he had escaped but he was eventually caught. Madonna sold the house soon after giving birth to her first daughter because she didn’t feel the house was safe. According to MTV back in the day. Ha.

Had a dream few months ago, Madonna was taking me on a tour of this house, she walked me down the hallway near the end of video, saw same glass doors, and a garden, I asked her, if she spends time in garden, she said, ‘Sometimes”, She also showed me the same kitchen in dream. Amazing views and spectacular architecture. The kitchen is a bit sterile and disconnected from the rest of the estate. Other than the beautiful stove, the kitchen lacks the warmth and character of the rest of the home, but the grounds are absolutely gorgeous! Kudos to the owners for honoring and preserving this work of art.

It took me quite a while to find this awesome place in 1994 (no google maps, no clear address, just followed bad route details of hollywood star maps 😂) But once I got there it was total freedom, no people, views are breathtaking, didnt even know there was a lake up there with a dam, I was like 😳😱🥰🥰. The new owner should really respect the history of this iconic hollywood castle, hope madonna will purchase it again, she totally fits to this historic mansion, its a house for a real romantic queen😄😁 Sad they repainted the house, back than it had those iconic italian red/mustard color stripes (done by madonna and her brother).
