I always feel like ocean fishing isn't worth it gold/hour without a fishing boat. What do you think? - factoring in time to find a plot, and transporting one fish at a time on a clipper.

Definitely agree, sport fishing is NOT worth the gold/hour until you have a fishing boat. But if someone else is chumming it is still worth it to clipper a fish back and forth! You will pay for the sport-fishing lure with your first fish easily!

Also bear in mind you can rent a fishing boat for 6 hours for 80g. While it sounds like a alot upfront you easily make that back especially if you bring a friend or two and split the cost.

Fede Rta you can sport fish at 0 proficiency. Less fish per spot per hour but if you want to get your proficiency up do the Fisherman Santiago quest chain, which will require you to do some worm fishing

The fishing rod is not what is expiring. It is the lure. The Sport-Fishing lure has a 2 hour duration. Simply re-apply it after the duration ends. (You need a new sport-fishing lure every time)

No you cannot "drop" fish on the ground while on a boat. In fact you cannot drop ANY trade pack on boats unless there is a storage slot. And fish can only be stored into the Fishing boat "hull" and hooks. Having friends with you to hold fish is the only way to hold extra fish when on a normal boat

Luong Ngo nope, you just need a Chum Bucket(60 bait worms and 40 ground grain), a rod, a sport fishing lure, and a way to get to a fishing spot. It makes it infinitely easier and more profitable to have a fish finder however.

Not really but in actuality it is. The draw distance of the schools is very short so you can miss them very easily even if you are close to them. You don't need to have a fish finder yourself though. Just join a fishing raid and they will find and mark spots that you can go to. It's not really worth it to sport fish at the sea without the fishing boat though. If you don't have one, sport fish in lakes. Less gold/labor but still decently profitable and that is 100% risk free unless you do it in a war zone.

Well if you can see the diffrence right away if it gargantuan the fish size is actually bit bigger And the minigame is bit harder

probably any class that has stealth or archery with a knock back. Your class doesn't really help though if you get ganked when you have a fish in your boat already. Usually the gankers use stealth to get right next to you without you ever noticing them and your class doesn't help at all in those situations. Especially since the gankers aren't alone 99% of the time. There are like 4 guys popping out of stealth on your boat and you just know you are done. Location is more important if you are solo fishing.

Advanced fishing starts actually at 230k. Ice fishing is possible at 40k (40k rod allows ice fishing) but in reality, you need 120k for that because you can't make the hole in the ice without having 120k fishing. So there isn't any actual fishing milestones at 40k except for the new rod.
