Yeah it is....funny that a lot of people who read VN thougth tha same and they didn't watched zero first ......but then again the very first fight in the series is Archer vs Lancer and Archer uses short sword's so they could figure out to not judge a book by it't cover....

At about this point in the narrative, I thought that Archer might be Odysseus (of Trojan War and the Odyssey fame), as he was a good example of a strong abut wily archer with a famous bow, who is also a clever strategist and a powerful melee fighter. (That would have been an interesting match for Caster and Berserker, actually), or possibly Teucer, another Trojan War archer. There's also a number of famous Indian (e.g., Arjuna), Mongol, Chinese, Persian and Japanese archer heroes besides ones well known in the west like Robin Hood, of course. Oddly enough, Hercules was also well known as an archer -- he used a bow with arrows poisoned with hydra blood to dispose of some of his enemies.
