Despite being a warrior and counter, Vampire Hunter is consodered part of the Archtype and it works with the lore too! Even though most Vampire are Zombie, the direct support mostly specifies that they just have Vampire int he name and be Dark attribute. A lot of people belive that the monster in hinter is suppsoed to be the pale dude in the pic. That is wring. Notice he is sort of in the midground of thw pic and to the side. What is in the foreground and center? The whip! It even has an aura around it to help. In japan it is called Vampire Killer which Castlevania fans will realize is the name of the whip. I wont go into all the detials but the whip in the series contains the soul of the first vampure gunting Belmont's fiancee who was turned by the king of vampires at the time. She gave herself willingly to become part of the whip of alchemy and enable her love to get vengence. This vampire soul is what transfomed it into the Vampire killer and thus why the care is a dark, dark slayer. It is a warrior because it is now a weapon but still empowered by a vampire soul turned against its own kind.

If I could think of a way to modernise the archetype, I'd start with having cards sent to the Graveyard be a punishment again. Maybe a new Rank 5 boss monster that locks your opponent out of the Graveyard, or negates the effects of any card it sends to the Graveyard, or burns the opponent each time a card is milled. Maybe you could gain Life Points from deck destruction - like a vampire! Or maybe you could just overhaul the archetype and make it so their effects banish cards from the Deck instead; while there are cards that do benefit from being banished, it's still largely considered a punishment to most decks.

I like the Archetype but it's gimmick (sending cards in your opponents deck to the graveyard) kinda helps most decks today. I really think they would be good though if they had something like necrovalley to stop the effects of the cards they send to the gy but unfortunately they have no such thing.

Mask Change II into Dark Law does sound like something Vampires could pull off; Dark Law's juuuust high-level enough for it to work. Problem is, it would lock you out of Vampire Kingdom entirely.

Not sure if there would be a more relevant video I could put this on, but... I get that there are people who fell out of Yu-Gi-Oh at some point (commonly before Synchro) and came back (commonly after Xyz ended) , but sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who was too young to watch the original series when it originally aired (final dub season of GX was on when I was young.) Seriously am I the only one who didn't fall out of Yu-Gi-Oh completely? Fusion, watched and understand. Synchro, was about nine or ten when I made a OT Shooting Star and Stardust combo to get both dragons on the field in one turn. Xyz, from the mistaken Exceed others thought it was, E to the Z. Love these guys. It's an aesthetic thing and aren't the most exciting fuckers out there most certainly, but I like to play em' too. Is it competitive? Absolutely not. However, for casual and fun play, it's my go-to deck. Here's my recipe I've cobbled together and tuned over time. Not a perfect one (I especially need to research extra deck options), but I hope to make it a physical deck one way; M A I N D E C K ! *2x Vampire Vamp* Honestly? It's decent enough to work in the deck, if you ask me. *3x Vampire Sorcerer* The obvious pick. It's the heart of the deck. *3x Vampire Kingdom* If Sorcerer is the heart, Kingdom is the soul. I've managed to secure many victories thanks to it. *2x Vampire Takeover* Searching fields might be pretty abundant, but how often do you get to ambush opponents with it? The opportunities are scarce, but it's a beautiful thing. *3x Uni-Zombie* A good card that opens the door to Synchro-potential (More on that in the extra deck). *2x Mezuki* You know why it's there, c'mon. *2x Shadow Vampire* Potent, but a double-edged sword, which is why I only put 2. *1x Patrician of Darkness* Wait a minute.... *why is this even here!?* Screw that, I'm throwing in another Shadow Vampire! *3x Sahdow Vampire* Much better *2x Vampire's Curse* Perhaps not the best guy ever, but Uni-Zombie helps me run Rank 6 rather easily with Vampires *3x Vampire Duke* Very solid stuff. *1x Vampire Lady* For the legacy *2x Vampire Lord* Again, legacy. Might supplant these down the line *1x Foolish Burial* Good prep *1x Soul Charge* Decent fail-safe *1x Mirror Force* Really good fail-safe *2x Twin Twisters* Excellent staple-card. *2x Pyramid of Wonders* Very effective. A good amount of damage-boost and a fail-safe for destruction. *2x Call of the Mummy* Fantastic zombie-support all-around. *2x Fusion Substitute* Situational, but potent when you need it. *2x Book of Life* I mean, hey. If you're gonna mill, might as well sweep them out of the graveyard. Really good at combos with Vampire Kingdom. E X T R A D E C K ! *2x Crimson Knight Vampire Bram* It's a solid card for the archetype, why not use it? Just like you said. *2x Starve Venom Fusion Dragon* Not the hardest to set up with the deck and a good quickfire destruction. *2x Adreus; Keeper of Armegeddon* Decent for the 2 removals, if nothing else. *1x Number 14: Greedy Sarameya* Situational, but a life-saver for such occasions. *2x PSY-Framelord Omega* This guy is the Synchro-support I'm talkin' about. Good for recycling both Vampire Sorcerer and Mezuki, not to mention being pretty good at defending itself on top of everything. *1x Utopia: The Lightning* Whenever you get that opportunity, you'll thank this fucker for being there. *1x Photon Bounzer* I haven't actually gotten much use out of him. Not from a lack of opportunities, just the timing's never been there. Gotta research more rank 6 options.

He's referring to Macro Cosmos, which banishes any cards that would be sent to the Graveyard. The thing is, it hits both players, and Vampires, being Zombies, rely a lot on the Graveyard; using Macro Cosmos would make them unplayable. Dark Law is better, only applying the effect to the opponent's Graveyard, but doing so would also lock you out of Vampire Kingdom, since it would banish the cards before they can reach the Graveyard.

@@BluePhoenix_ Paper and Paper mache are very different. Layering a lot of paper to basically wear textbooks provides a lot more defense than crumbled paper molded to look a certain way.
