I got to hand it to the fans who kept Archie Sonic going through online when IDW came about up. I really missed the freedom fighters all this time. Also glad for comic dubs with good acting and music to make these reads more interesting.

IDW definitely isn't a worse sonic comic than Archie and in some situations I think its even better than Archie, but it hurts that we will likely never see these characters in official media again. The Freedom Fighters are my favorite set of characters that have just been thrown to the wayside and it hurts.

IDW Sonic stories just don’t and likely won’t ever have the same emotional depth of storytelling that Archie Sonic had. I really miss those comics, their characters, and their original stories. If only Sega & Archie Comics could’ve worked something out to continue this branch of incredible storylines. 😭😭😭

So do I, I mean I like the idw issues for the most part but idk I’m not as excited for new issues as I was with these because how close I was to the Characters but if it had to end I’m at least it ended where it did with 287 (288-290 being flashbacks) with the planet restored and the freedom fighters together looking at the sunrise

IDW has actually proven that it can delve into deep and pretty dark territories too. Like the dilemma of punishing Eggman despite not remembering what he had done, and helping people as Mister Tinker. Or the Metal Virus Arc, that pulled at heartstrings and stooped to levels you wouldn't have thought possible for a Modern Sonic story.

Geez this is amazing! I haven’t even read Archie yet because of its iffy beginning, and when it got good halfway through, the Penders and reboot happened. But if the good-half of comic is anything like, I think I might give it a try. Also, question: I know Archie Sonic Online is a fan product, but how “canon” is it to Archie? As in, how much support from the original artists and writers did it get?

This is a wonderful dub. As someone who grew up with Archie Sonic, I was so happy when I found out a group of people were dedicated to preserving its legacy. If I have one minor critique, it’s that the voice acting for Sonic could stand to be a little more dynamic during the fight scene, and Robotnik didn’t sound quite as unhinged as he normally is, but I think Mecha Sally was on point, and Elias showed the perfect amount of emotion. That voice acting by Sonic and Sally at the end though, was absolute perfection. 🥲 Overall, thumbs up!👍👍

This is more like it than the Worlds Collide & the Post Genesis story arcs. This should have gone on the hardcover of Archie Comics rather changing the timeline. I loved the characters of Pre-Genesis Wave timeline & that was the original. It's like old times again. I grew up with that. This is such a relief. The key moment is the deroboticization of Sally Acorn. 13:01
