what is the rule for the strikes?

I don't know the specific dimensions, but the pitch has to be a certain height once it leaves the pitcher. The umpire decides if the pitch is "too high" or "too low" and is supposed to shout "illegal," if necessary. If the pitch is "illegal," the batter can still swing and put it in play and it then becomes a "live ball." If the legal pitch hits the black mat behind home plate, it's a strike. Sometimes, the pitcher will paint the inside or outside corner and, as long as it barely touches that black mat, may be called a strike. If the ball hits the plate, it's a ball. Hope this helps and thank you for watching!!

Let me also add that every batter starts out with one ball and one strike to speed up the game. Each batter only gets "two" strikes so if they swing and hit two foul balls the batter is out. When a batter walks, I usually edit out the other pitches that are a 'ball' and only include the pitch that is "ball four." Also, when a team has two outs and they walk a guy the team on offensive has the option of giving the girl an automatic walk to first base. Again, this only happens when there are two outs in an effort to prevent teams for intentionally walking guys to get a girl to bat. I hope this makes sense. Please let me know if you more questions and thank you so much for your interest!!

i saw in a part of the video where the pitch was a good heigh and it hit the white part of the plate but she ended up walking

Yeah, if it hits the white part of the plate it's a ball. It has to hit the black mat behind the white plate for it to be a strike.
