it's good but it seems to be too fast to me, like the original was supposed to be a very slow and haunting song and this feels way too faswt and just doesn't feel right. also definitely does not have the same emotional impact and overall mood. musically though it's a pretty good cover, i like how the strings sound (idk if they're also live or are from a synth or something, sounds like people playing live string instruments to me though) and i like how they're more forward in the mixing than the guitar, brings an original sound to the song, but it's still fairly faithful to the original.

Deftones are my all-time favorite band and Architects have been a long time favorite since the days of Nightmares. However, this cover isn't very good at all, especially the string arrangements. It just seems out of place in comparison to the minimal electronic atmosphere that was present on the original.

Yeah that snare needs to not be a 16 woodie. Needs to be steel,14, and the batter tight as fuck and that stick needs to be hitting that ring a LOT more. We could also talk about the hat sound that's completely off because it's not a crispy set and it sounds like it needs nylon tips to make the exact sound on the bell replicated from the album...but let's not go there. I love this version. These guys fucking nailed it.
