But at the same time their entire last album and these 3 new songs sound very similar to each other.They’ve completely lost all their technicality and depth that they once had.They went from my favourite band to a band I wouldn’t even listen to because it’s straight radio rock now instead of epic metal.

As a bit of a purist at my age (50+), I have a strong appreciation for a wide variety of music. Most bands aren’t “sell outs”, need to understand that it’s part of life. Did your clothing choices change with the (don’t fib)? Think of it as the evolution revolution … deal with it. Music is the last real thing we have to cling to. Embrace diversity. Nuff said.

@@theonlyone992 My brother, do you recall the entire album Daybreaker? front to end that unique sound blew my mind and don't get me started on LT//LF or All our Gods, yet even with that skill set under their belt they manage to shift gears to make a more industrial sound which is heavy in its own way. This is very difficult to do for a band that can keep churning out the same sound every couple years and make tons of money but not doing so shows a sign of musical maturity not seen often in this industry.

@garretrpage2 жыл бұрын
Hey man! I just wanted to chime in and say you should definitely check out some more Architects. You know how with NF, people call his discography a “journey!” Well, with Architects, it’s actually pretty similar. Their entire album “All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us” is actually about their lead guitarist/founder/songwriter, Tom Searle, facing his own mortality (he was dying of cancer). I’d love a full album reaction, but Gone With the Wind and Memento Mori are a must. After that album came out, he passed away, and the band nearly disbanded because of it. Their follow up record, “Holy Hell,” was written by Dan Searle, his twin brother and drummer/founder, and the entire album deals with their grief in the aftermath of his death (Doomsday, a song you reacted to probably like two years ago, was their first single they released after Tom’s death). Once again, a full album reaction would be legendary, but Hereafter, Modern Misery, A Wasted Hymn, and the Doomsday (piano reprise) are a must. After you finish those two albums, you NEED to watch the documentary that they made about the Holy Hell album called “Holy Ghost” (linked below). It has probably one of the most emotional and gut wrenching live performances of all time, and the entire documentary (about 22 minutes) is incredibly beautiful and will make Architects one of your favorite bands, guaranteed. The following album, which you’ve reacted to a couple songs from (For Those That Wish to Exist), is about moving forward from the grief expressed in the last album. Check out the Live at Abbey Road version of “Dying is Absolutely Safe,” as it’s one of their softest, yet most impactful songs they’ve released. I just wrote a bunch of words, so no worries if you don’t read them. Love the channel, and exited for more badass content ❤️

I keep thinking of how many different types of metal there are, and if someone attempts to toss it in a jar it's the same thing as saying that big media was right all along about music; "you can just make a beat, throw some random lyrics to it, put out a pretty face, and play it real loud and call it music and people will purchase." It's much better to thing of music like cooking; it's never done being perfected, but everyone has their favorite dish. Just because a band decides to add an extra spice or serve their main meal with a side dish doesn't change the fact that they are still who they are. You're not a sell out till you toss away the plate and let someone else make your food for you.
