Now THATS a “self-made” woman! Not Kylie Jenner. Kris started from scratch.
@ClaraBowInThisLight5 жыл бұрын
devaschloe I think Kylie gets a lot of shit for what she has done. Sure she has money and influence but there are thousands of influencers who have tried to start makeup companies and FAILED despite having those things on their side. It is extremely difficult to make an empire and she did it all before the age of 21. That takes a HUGE amount of effort, dedication, and passion. Her sister Kim, who is way more famous, has her own makeup company that hasn’t even come close to touching the tails of what Kylie has created. She completely changed the industry with her lip kits. You can see simply by looking at the amount of companies that came out with some sort of alternative or copy of her product in the years following her launch. Any kid of rich parents could retire at 18 and do nothing for the rest of their life. She made an empire of her own.

Stephanie Schwartz Well said, while yes she was given a platform to begin with - she has exceeded herself and has done so in such fast pace - that’s not something anyone can take away from her. Also look at the siblings- or even Kanye who has been in the entertainment/ business industry for a long time, he’s had he’s clothing line and yeeze’s which are loved by many - yet he’s not a billionaire so to say shes been born with a silver spoon 🥄 is true but look at the results of her WORK. Also Paris Hilton, what hasn’t she tried and she’s a millionaire - not taking any of her achievements from her- but she’s not as yet a billionaire and you’d think by having a wealthy family and being in the spot light it would magically happen- but hasn’t as yet! As women we should applaud her, and work hard so that our children can have a positive role model in their lives! Ps- my son overheard my mum and I discussing her the other day and said “one day I want to be a big successful billionaire and have my own business” - he’s only 6, but I applaud that ambition🤞🏼 long may it continue!
@CatherineSTodd5 жыл бұрын
There have been thousands of complaints about Kylie's lack of quality control and refusal for refunds for empty lip containers, bent dried out lip brushes and more. The BBB had downgraded her company until Kris Jenner stepped in, and now their rating is "under review." Plus Kylie doesn't have a billion dollars. That value is based on "value" of her makeup company, and it is less than a billion and could hit bottom any time. The media & Kriss Jenner has turned Kylie Jenner into a rich billionaire star when it's not nearly true. Got to give credit to Kris for making "something out of nothing," or "something out of a sex tape." Credit where credit is due.

The thing about Kris to me is that she is a very smart,ambitious woman and I feel like if she were a man she wouldn't get half the hate she does.Her intelligence came from watching Robert Kardashian and her Ambition came from Bruce that is a very important lesson to young...sometimes what you leave with from a man isn't always monetary,study him and adapt his character.She is hustler and people may equate that with evil but I honestly think like it or not she and her family completely dominate a large part of pop culture now and as ppl love to point out "they're famous for nothing"...Brilliant!!!

Well I think she's right that everybody has their own opinions about how she does things and feeling that they are too this or too that. From my perspective, I think their lifestyle is very materialistic. And yet, when I tuned into the show, which I don't normally, I have to admit that what I come away with is a sense of family love and unity, which is very admirable. So it's a mixed bag of self promotion and certain values that may not be considered optimal combined with others that are indeed quite positive. I think that regardless of whether one agrees with them or not there are still things that one can take away from the show and learn from. Just like this interview.....

After reading some of the comments I want to also say that kris Jenner is fabulous at the hustle and entrepreneurial and creative on the way she thinks. The way she reinvented herself to ensure she could provide for her family is wonderful and inspiring. Kris proves you do to need a business degree to be entrepreneurial. All women need good role models in other women who are fearless and have courage (without being a catty or mean girls) and who can achieve it in the entrepreneurial world and still maintain being feminine yet strong, show kindness and not be afraid to have a bit of fun and be flexible and not afraid to make changes when you need to in life. You never hear of those first small steps and efforts. Its obvious that Kris is a Momager, but I think initially she was highly motivated by protecting her family. I always thought she was a great mom in so many ways, now we see... she is great daughter, hard working, great attention to detail, such a hard worker. People speak badly of her, but I just liked her. She is a good mom & made Bruce look successful when it is obvious he wasn’t who marries a woman with children with $200 dollars in their account, he married her to get somewhere & live off of her. He was always so jealous of her on the show putting her down...

Maria is annoying in her questions...not sure if she means to be this way! She keeps interrupting Kris. Who knows she might have kinda jealous herself. She needed to be a little bit more kind about Rob. Asking what she wants to use your fame for? I like Kris! Kris is smart, sexy, poised. She knows what she is doing. I think people make her out she doesn’t care for her kids. 37:10 Maria through Kris under the bus! Trying to blame Kris and the show for Donald Trump being in office...blending politics and reality together. .Marian, I never liked and now I know why! Kris was poised and mannerly the whole time. Overall very good to hear from Kris.

When you think of what she has achieved, you have to be impressed. She looks beautiful , and i have so much respect for Maria to do this series and what she has been through she also is such a great woman of strength.

Kris is a genius and Maria didn't do a good job interviewing her! She came off as someone who was projecting her own insecurities, "But how did you do it?". She couldn't fathom the ambition Kris had how she made it all happen.

Maria thank you so much for sharing Kris with us and her journey. Very inspiring. This was one of the best interviews I’ve seen in a long time. I have more respect for her now that I’ve heard her story. A strong, but so misunderstood woman. Kris is a legion.

Vessela Marintcheva+ I was thinking the same thing!! Scorpio women are very resourceful - Kris wanted to make sure her family was going to be stable financially. There's no telling how much money Bruce really had left when he meet Kris; so it seems Kris was concerned. I commend her for stepping up to the plate and making it happen. She can't control what her grown kids do; so she can only support them, and hope the make the best decisions.

Kris you are absolutely amazing and an inspiration to us who are struggling. Thank you.
Kris didn’t start from scratch, her mother did, with the store. Kris married a wealthy attorney and lived in Beverly Hills as a housewife with maids and gardners. Robert Kardashian left quite a fortune to his children, it’s not like they all had jobs when the show started. Everyone was “working at the store” and Rob was in college, they all were over 25 yet still living with their parents. Kris then married an olympian, someone who was already relatively wealthy and famous. Yes she is a determined and driven person with a lot of business acumen, but she also had the circumstances to facilitate her success. It’s not like a modest family could ever achieve fame and wealth without money, connections and a strong social network. What the Kardashians did with social media is what Bill Gates did with the computer, they exploited a young, untapped industry and got lucky. Nothing else. Anyone would “work hard” for millions of dollars and mansions in Bel Air, but most people get paid very little for the same amount of effort (minus the huge entourage of assistants, drivers, chefs, nannies etc.)

You are right on! CBS Sunday Morning did a segment on homeless UCLA students who get the full ride scholarship but can’t afford to live in the dorm they live in their cars. Other students hearing about this started a food bank for the homeless students. A few weeks later CBS Sunday Morning Tracy Smith interviewed Kris Jenner who said with a click of a button her daughters who as “influencer’s” make 6 to 7 figures in salary. What a contrast in stories! Maybe the Kardashians can donate to homeless college students to have homes or pay for the dorm fees so the students have a place to live.

I think it’s reductive to diminish someone’s success just because there are other people who have different starting positions. You can acknowledge her status and marriage helped her and gave her certain privilege without negating that she took it to another level.
