It continues to surprise me how much I’m learning from simply seeing so many takes on a single brief. One of the biggest takeaways has been that sketches are so important and stand out in a field of mediocre cgi

Sketches stand out graphically but some sketches indicate thinking and that's why I will always call out a sketch when I see one! I would love to see an entry of JUST sketches. I wonder if anyone will be brave enough!

I appreciate the dedicatedness to pure constructive criticism. I don't think there is enough.

196: Finally an entry using the glass curtain wall for views from the interior and through the building to the buildings beyond.

I am not learning to appreciate contemporary architecture in your videos but I am learning how to critique a competition entry. Presentation is nearly all. The more I see, the more I think the simpler the better

Bro, you gotta know that the playlist is in reverse order. If you wanted to watch all videos in chronological order you could not do that using the playlist. This is an awesome series, and I really enjoy this. I feel i am learning a lot about making projects and being judged. Cheers!

Thanks for pointing this out, I've just had a look and I could be wrong but I think you can flip the playlist so that it plays oldest to newest!

I think Chevrolet would be pretty happy with #163. quite literally on brand for them.

Commenting before watching the whole thing! Was hoping you'd get to some of the ones I quickly browsed on their site (and you did). 165: agreed! Though I think the difference when it comes to translucent materials can be attributed to the lighting/time of day. But it's always an issue with translucent stuff, isn't it? We use PBR renderers and whatnot, but there's always going to be an uncertainty when it comes to those!

196 has superb potential

I really got caught up on that detail but I have to say it was underwhelming seeing the interior after being so excited by the external perspectives! A detail for sure that can always be resolved!

@@cathalcrumley Wow just noticed I commented about 165 but typed in 164. I've no idea how you keep track of all these projects haha

From the hints of a solid build I think 177 might pull it off very well in the next 7 pages. This one, alongside 149, makes me want to see the whole submissions the most.

180, wonderful spiderweb-like drawing, remenicent of 'Elia' by Ingvar Cronhammar, though might be because it is just a plain white render. I quite like the 2nd render (but again, maybe only because it's pure while), but once built with "real" material not a winner.

Can we please stop with the trees inside buildings..
