Another hack we do in architecture school when we're doing plates was we made the plans in CAD then print it in the 20x30 board with a lighter shade (like a light pencil shade) then ink it using the tech pens. It's a bit expensive but it saves a lot of drafting time. We weren't allowed to digitize our plates back then not until we reached our Design 8 subject so we had to make do (I hope none of my instructors see this lol). Also: if you want to erase/remove ink from your tracing/parchment paper, use acetone instead of alcohol. It doesn't wrinkle the paper. Pour a generous amount of acetone on your eraser and start rubbing it across the ink you want to remove. We have a lot of hacks too but some of it are so taboo I'm hesitant to share it here lol

Rubber Band around 2 pen line weight technique - wrap your two of your most used line weights on opposite sides of each other with a rubber band. - Reduces the time looking for your pen, saves you time Candle Paper Saving Technique - apply wax on corners of the plate before taping it - To avoid ripping out chunks of the tape Candle Window Reflection Technique - apply streaks of a candle on the windows of the plate and then use watercolor to paint. - creates an illusion of glares on the windows Perspective Hack Technique (2 rules, masking tape, thump tacks, and binder clips) - Stick the masking tape on your skin to remove the stickiness of the tape, then pierce the thumbtack on the sticky side of the masking tape, mounting the thumbtack with the tape aligned with the vanishing points. Tape the edges of the ruler with flaps to mount onto the thumbtacks. "Freehand perspective technique." - Instead of rulers, use dental floss and tie it with the thumbtacks. use binders clips on the thumbtacks to avoid stabbing of hands. - The rulers and dental floss serve as projection lines from the vanishing points, saving you time from aligning tools to the vanishing points again and again. Saves you time
