What a gem to see. I was very intrigued to see the LIMA sign in the unmistakable keystone shape of the Pennsylvania Railroad, I had to look up a system map of the Pennsy and sure enough they had a line that ran from Chicago all the way to Youngstown. Think of all the railroads that ran into Lima back in the day - Pennsy, B&O, DT&I, etc etc. To this day there's a lot of rail action around Lima, granted it's entirely freight traffic. Wonder what happened to that sign...

Very interesting. The tall building is the Argonne Hotel at High and Elizabeth Streets. The other building he is walking out if is the old post office. It was located just diagonal across from the hotel. Hotel is still there...senior apartments now. The old post office is gone and that's an empty lot now. Our current post office is just up High street about two blocks. It was built in the 1930's. We had two train stations. Only one is left. I can't tell which one is in the video for sure.

I’m going to venture to say that the train station in the video is the one where Central dead ends and is now the utilities department. The shot of the woman on the platform…..that looks like the old Hotel Cambridge in the background and that building is still there !

As a child I saw a "human fly" climb the outside of that hotel! Around 1948.
