Archive on 4: Archive Fever

A live edition of the BBC Radio 4 archiver series from 15 April 2017 in which cultural historian Matthew Sweet looks at the nature of archive material and how we use it. This programme was not intended for a repeat broadcast nor available as to Listen Again. This is my recording of it from my own radio archive.

Man, I have been looking for this for so long! I heard it live over BBC Radio 4 back in 2017 and I so wanted to hear it again. I hunted down every site since then hoping I'd find a copy of it so I can listen to it again. Thank you! I guess the archive fever really is true, we all have that desire to record and archive. Derrida was right.

How ironic that this episode ended up on KZbin and can be enjoyed for an indeterminate period of time... just goes to show, once we send something out there into the world, we have very little control over what happens to it.
