Their album Virgin Killers kill3d his voice and he needed surgical reconstruction and had to learn to speak and sing all over again...took a year and the band waited for him and helped him through it the whole time.

Yeah, it was while recording Blackout. He developed nodules on his vocal cords. They used Don Dokken to fill in not sure if Klaus would make it back. He had to shock his throat before singing for quite awhile afterwards. He was even better once he got through it as you can hear.

Great reaction. BTW you might subconsciously be equating this song with GNR's "don't cry" cos in its lyrics it also reads like "I still love you babe". If you would like to dive deeper into Scorpions, I recommend "Always Somewhere".

If it felt short, it's cos it was... That sounded/looked like the "official video" which is edited down to somewhere between 4 and 5 minutes, from the original full length of 6½ minutes. And if you like this one, check out the newer 2011 version (from the Comeblack album) nd the song's sequel, SLY (from the 2010 Sting In The Tail album). "SLY" is both the acronym for Still Loving You, and the name given to the child that results from the romance of the original song ; _"She was born with a song in the air, in the summer of `85"_ (the "song in the air" of course referencing the original song which came out in spring of 1984, so do the math, lol). Where the original depicts a falling out between young lovers, SLY revisits the emotional ordeal when the falling out happens between parent and (runaway) child. The common theme being that no matter the difficulties or turmoil, a deep and powerful love will overcome.

Because it was short. Most versions out there are the shit one. There is another minute n half to the song. Lotta great guitar. Scorpions are kings of ballads. But they rock too...
