I've been getting pretty comfy with Twinmotion and have been considering diving deeper into UE5. With caustics, however, and those beautiful section fills, I may be having to add yet another rendering tool to my workflow. Though I'm sure Ai rendering tools are right around the corner, as it seems D5 is starting, which will give more control on how you can use it to speed up accurate yet nice looking renderings.

The race between the "new wave" render tools is at a very high tempo now. Which is exciting, because in the end of the day - it's the users who benefit from the increased competition

Hey! If u are into twinmotion and starting ue5, there now is a plugin called ‘dash’ to speed up the design process. They started integrating some AI aswell this way ;)

Definitely agreed on ease of use topic. I also found that it is best to know/learn and follow all the available tools to see which work could be done in which software comparing by the efficent way, if you have time and budget ofcourse. I now realized, before starting a project my new approach is become like - yeah okay that could be done in d5 or tm or maybe lumion, and sometimes like yeah it is only possible with vray/vantage. Having all tools in your fingers gives you to perspective to manage your workflow in time and effortless way. 👋

I think Enscape is the better tool over D5, in terms of ease of use, but also performance cost. It can be even better than Twinmotion in some cases, been doing panoramas lately and it's painly long on path tracer (2080ti). Now researching a way to do those panoramas on Unreal. Fun fact: From 5.1.1 on forward, Twinmotion materials view not be imported on Unreal (at least I was not able to)

No issues with importing materials from TW to UE 5.3 here. As for Enscape - yes, the ease-of-use and optimization is indeed great, but the quality ceiling is pretty low. I'm sure they will improve the quality over time, but as it is right now - that's the main reason why I'm skiping over Enscape.

@@DesignGoBrr I managed to import materials now on 5.2, was missing enabling newest plugin. It indeed gave me a lot of crashes, but worked nonetheless. I think Enscape is the better tool for non archviz professionals, as materials name will already give it a great look (despite it's pricing). But still, it is the more limited tool.

Oh , D5 comes with a built-in library of assets, like materials, objects, special effects and so on. All vegetation if from the default asset library.

should we totally switch to AI rendering and stop using ue5 or any rendering software in the near future ?

Well I don't think it will be "black and white" like that. AI generation will get integrated into the workflow of UE5/D5/Twinmotion and so on, just like AI DLSS is used to boost quality. Most users don't even know that AI's taking care of a lot of heavy lifting already. So.. No.

Value of an architect does not come from the technical expertise in 3D imagery creation. 3D rendering is simply one of many representation techniques that an architect uses to explain his designs to the client, to the public and also to himself. The value of an architect comes from the depth of spatial thinking/problem solving that he/she possesses. @@tigeramine8156
