Arckanum - Bafomet

Hey Volks ... feel free to comment, but if possible, do it in English, even if it sucks (like mine ;) )
The "The 11 Year Anniversary Album" is some Kind of Arckanum Best of, including some Songs recorded in alternativ ways. The Record is limited on 3000 Copies, so hurry if you want that CD. Like the Music, the booklet ist also very intressting, it shows just like the Songs the History of that amazing one man Band with some unmasked Pictures as well. And here we have the Bafomet Song... just amazing. This is one of my all time Blackmetal Favorites, just the Version on the "Boka Vm Kaos" EP i like a bit better, because its more raw!

Fast forward years later , after the burnout of my so called 'trve' metal , I discovered many fascinating genre , blackgaze , god forbid deathcore , Slam , dream pop , Crust punk , Skramz , DSBM , Trap metal , drone , deathgrind , post metal . God , it worth living to just listen to music .

Second wave? What? Arckanum formed in 1993 but even before that Shamaatae was in other metal bands like Disinterment and Grotesque. Arckanum is first wave, later first wave but most definitely first wave.

antistagnate First wave was in the 80s (e.g. Venom, Hellhammer, etc.). Second wave was in the 90s (e.g. Mayhem, Darkthrone, etc.).

Aye, that would be correct. Though I don't really get caught up in the whole correct labeling of a genre. It's a badass song from a kick ass band. Call it 10th wave black metal, call it metal, call it death metal, call it fucking jazz it's still going to sound the same at the end of the day and it sounds terrific to me.

I believe my entire record collection exists out of 60% Swedish Metalbands, 20% Norwegian, 10 % Finnish, and 10% European. The Swedish scene has alot of talents since day 1! R.I.P Shamaatae and Arckanum !!!

Hi ! I think my Favourite (Black) Metal Countrys are Norway and Germany. Of course the Swedish scene has much to offer but I like the typical style of it's western neighbour a bit better. Maybe it depends on which kind of style you had your first contact to (black) metal. And yeah ... Arckanum is dead. imo since the album (what ever it was called) after pppppppppppppp

@@Dabby3 I know tons of German Black Metal bands since I collected the German Underground Magazine Ablaze which came with a Compilation CD with every single issue. The German bands all were abit standard with exceptions of some good ones like Nagelfar, Dark Fortress, and Lunar Aurora. My first serious connection with Black Metal were Darkthrone, Emperor and Marduk back in 1993. Mayhem came Years later. 1997 or 1998 I think, when Mayhem reunited again. ppppppppppppp is also my favorite of Arckanum. Yes, Shamaatae made a statement about it on Facebook in February this year.

Wow, I wish I experienced the Black Metal Scene in the mid 90's like you did. In my Opinion you just named the three greatest German Black Metal Bands. Besides them I love Katharsis. The Reunion of Mayhem was a bad Idea. I only listen to ordo ad chao sometimes. Unfortunately I can't find this statement of Shamaatae on FB. His own Opinion after he buried Arckanum by himself would be very interesting.

Baphomet is one of the gnostic deities; popular among the Templar knights and among black metallers due to the similarities to Satan (Scheitan). Baphomet was just a Baal though (a lord among deities), thus equivalent to an ordinary angel/demon.
