i wanna get a job doing pipe fabrication just like this, do you think i could get to doing this without pipe coding and just working my way up in a place that does pipe alongside other welding projects they do? or could i not even touch pipe without a 6g or sumn
@ARCONEWELDINGКүн бұрын
What you want is what I had but all I can tell you is you need to practice on your own time because most places aren't willing to train you up but most are willing to give you the opportunity to get them out of trouble

Do you brush/clean your stainless steel before welding.
@ARCONEWELDINGКүн бұрын
I usually do but this time I had forgotten, but I usually only clean if the pipe is contaminated
@CalvinDenny-m2lКүн бұрын
@ARCONEWELDING awesome. I noticed when I use a stainless steel wire brush and only brush one direction and only clean where the edges of the weld puddle will go to maybe giving a little bit of room as not to pick up any oxides from the unclean stainless and your stainless steel welds will be shining and depending on amperage and travel speed you get the different colors such as blue, straw colors and gold. But red and gray/almost black means it's getting too hot and/or oxidation is occurring. ( The reasoning for brushing only one direction is to minimize any oxides that can be pushed back into the metal by going back and forth with a brush also I forgot to mention using acetone, isopropyl alcohol or dechloronated brake cleaner will clean the remaining g residual oxides and any loose dirt/dust off of the stainless and helps even more for a bright and beautiful stainless weld.

WOW, this was some beautiful work. I was sure you were gonna blow thru and man am I impressed. Your Technique was fun to watch. Do these need to be passivated or is it for other use?

Cheers mate thankyou it was on the limit of what I could do without worrying about blowing through and the pipes only for chilled water for cooling

Quality! .... Nice To See An Other Vid From You Chap... Weld on The Top Of Positioning Is Less Pronounced Than Vertical Due To Gravity ... Weld Triyng To Run Down Hill ? peace
@ARCONEWELDING3 күн бұрын
Yeah gravity really affects the profile of the welds and I haven't been doing it long enough to fully understand how to combat it an And as for welding down hill sometimes the Pool gets too fast and you don't get Penetration

Big gap? Thats only a couple of mm. Wait until you're welding pipe positionally on site with 6-8mm gaps around part of the butt, and no matter what schedule pipe it is still prepped the same, ie root face of around 1mm maximum. Now that is what you call a ball ache😄😄
@ARCONEWELDING3 күн бұрын
The problem with this true bore stuff is because it's only 2mm wall thickness is unforgiving, so a gap of even 2mm is extreme
@coreyagregaard21062 күн бұрын
I've had welders wanting a 5/32 gap at least on sch 10 and others fuse it just have to know how to wiggle that thing
