This only makes me hope (pointlessly, I fear) for a Madworld remaster. I know it wasn’t a roguelite, but damn I loved the third-person combat and pared-down art style of that game. Makes me wish I hadn’t sold my Wii and copy.

you'd not buy a game just because of the music? I've heard plenty of reasons to not buy a game, but not liking the music seems to be fairly low on a list of reasons to not buy a game. I usually find music a distraction and automatically lower it 75%. I don't think you're doing yourself any favors passing on a potentially fun game when the only apparent complaint is the music.

This is the kind of game where mechanically it looks pretty fun but it’s sort of death by a thousand cuts when it comes to the fine details. Things like having a more dynamic soundtrack and audio engineering, a bit more visual POLISH in the UI to refine it in a way that looks just a bit better without blocking off the screen to pull it up. Also the game looks very samey like it could use a bit more visual texturing, there’s a lot of squares and not much that is round. I’ll probably try this one out though. I’m glad to see someone bringing a third person shooter to the Switch. Maybe the devs will run some updates. I hope it does well for them.

It looked promising, but I have rougelike fatigue on the Switch and that 30 second music loop sounds like a nightmare. I might pick it up on a deep sale, although I already have a huge backlog... Thanks for the review, you've saved me 17 quid!

I feel lile this game (and many others) hamper themselves with simply trying to be rogue-like (or lite) rather than make an actual story. Games like Returnal and Remnant showed it can be done.
