Cheers Aaron, Another clear instructional video for the collection. Very useful & important information in there.

I find 60 segments works well and that is also accurate when you are talking about degrees or minutes.

Excellent video on this topic. Instructive! Thanks again Aaron. I am missing in SketchUp's presets the ability to have the 24 segments in the base be different. For example 48 segments. I know you can set this before you start creating a circle, but it would be a nice addition if you could determine this yourself in the base settings. Possibly you could discuss this with your colleagues....

Alas, 24 sides is a persistant default... as an optomist, I hope to see a setting in Gen Info, one day!

Because of the stuff I usually draw, I almost always up the segments to 32 or 64 or another power of 2. This seems to avoid a lot of problems of strange results when intersecting faces. I would even change the default of 24 segments to 32 if it was possible (or I could figure out how). I come from an Autocad background where 'entities' are stored as equations so that tangents and intersections, etc, are calculated to 12 or 16 decimal places.

had a lot of issues with exporting to dxf for cnc. i did the 2D export. Glad to learn I should do it in 3D. Thx Aaron

Thanks for clarifying the export to 3d model dxf interprets cicle as a true circle. This is something my laser cutting contractor has struggled with as I was exporting cutting profile as 2d since it was flat

I think that the default number of the segments should be higher to allow drawing of a smooth circle ,every other setting should remain the same

Great video, one question , why does the annoying pop up appear every time you change the number of segments Any way to turn it off?

It is possible, but very tedious, to draw by connecting individual arcs and lines. Very worthwhile to use add-ons.
