I literally bought ARCS because the base game is laser focused. I am not a "Board Game Player" but might become one due to Arcs and this split project approach.

I think Arcs has a wider appeal because of this than many board games made right now. I think your skill in poker will help you in understanding and playing Arcs in a lot of ways

That's such a weird way to think about it. Its not like the combined game would be cheaper, it likely would cost almost the same as the two halves put together. This also lets people buy and try the base game at a much cheaper price, rather than shell out a much larger sum that may be harder to commit to. Plus, many people prefer the base game, so not having to spend the extra amount on an unnecessary campaign is a positive. This is not the same thing as a AAA video game studio selling you an incomplete game at full price and then selling you DLC to finish it.

And before you call me a fan boy, I've never played a Cole Wehrle or Leder game, I just find game design discussion interesting and am considering trying out Arcs.
