Well done Tim. Yeah great tips on duel hats. For me a wool hat, Merino wool balaclava and winter neck gaiter with Merino wool fingerless gloves you can't go wrong. As far as scarfs, I never really got into using them. Great tip on the dangers of overheating / sweating. I always remove outer clothing till my core cools down and acclimatize to the outdoor temps. Then once I'm stationary I'll coverup to protect myself against the cold. I'm a walking furnace, so I have to be extra careful in not overheating while out on the trails. I would rather feel the cold than sweat. LOL

Always good to be a little bit chilly to be on the safe side and hopefully to have spare layers just in case. Neck gaiters😂. I was calling them buffs on he video (a brand name, don't know if you even have them. Neck gaiter is a much better word. I like to have a couple of them. Thanks for watching Dan.

Thank you my friend. Unni my beautiful freind in the video also really likes wildlife, expecially squash and grouse, or pretty much anything that can be chased. Thanks for watching mate.

Enjoy your videos from Texas. Found your videos because of my interest in puukko and leuku knives. Parts of my family came to Texas in the 1840s from Hedmark, Norway. Keep up the good content.

Thank you very much for your support mate. Glad you are enjoying the channel. Got another Puukko to show you in the next few days. Have a fabulous weekend.

We only have a couple of inches of snow over here so far. I love this time of year - no bugs but you can walk almost anywhere! Good advice on layering. Makes ALL the difference. 👍

Is it getting cold there yet? Really good when the cold comes a bit early. Gets all the rivers and lakes frozen up nicely. Really helps to enjoy it when you know how to derss😂. We have a young Danish lad here at the moment who definitely doesn't. Needs his mum maybe 😂. Someone has to check what he is waring before he goes outside. Thanks for watching mate.

@@KuukkeliBushcraft We're having some warm weather, so not cold yet. We're all hoping it gets real cold before too much snow comes... Last year was a bit of a mess in that regard. Cheers!

Hey Tim bro ! ..looks like a chilly day for sure ! I just bagged a new pair of waterproof fluro gloves for use on my bike.. delighted with them ! Yeah snow down the back of the neck is a real eye opener !! 😁 Top winter clothing advice here mate.. I can never learn enough about the subject as I always seem to freeze in Polish winter whatever I try !! lol Cheers to you my friend and big hugs for Unni !! 🐾🐾

Thanks Andy, I am sure it's cold enough in Poland too. I think the cold weather always tends to catch you off guard everywhere. Have a great weekend mate. Make sure Jimmy gets a nice warm spot by the fire.

We don’t get the lower temperatures here in southwestern Finland, but man, we do get the dampness with the constant freezing and thawing! Slick ice too. I prefer the Lapland winters, it stays frozen and drier. Layering is a way of life here in Finland. Thanks Tim!
@KuukkeliBushcraft10 ай бұрын
Layering is something our guides struggle with😂. Very important concept for us foreigners to get to grips with. Expecially spending long hours outdoors. The damp can be pretty tough but also out all day con be pretty challenging with - 35. - 15/20 is actually pretty plesent when you are used to it. No damp and not too brutally cold. Thanks for watching mate.

Once again reminded that Finland is quite a long country actually, and how south I live (you cant live much more south in Finland). Was just couple a days ago 7 plus degrees here. I miss the Snow already. Looks nice there!! Cheers!
@KuukkeliBushcraft10 ай бұрын
7 degrees, tat sounds tropical 😂. The snow is really nice but it does get a little dark and cold. The time of year that we get inundated with tourists from places like the UK. The Finnish tourists are more sensible and come to go skiing in the spring. A much more pleasant time of year. It is actually quite cold at the moment it does seem to vary quite a lot. Thanks for stopping by Llari.

Minus 6? I'm never complaining about being cold again! I would be very interested in your opinion on the best clothes for cold/bad weather. Unni is being a star!
@KuukkeliBushcraft10 ай бұрын
I actually love going back to the UK and hearing how they complain about the cold😂. Best clothes for cold weather is basically wool, wool and more wool. A good down jacket with a tough shell that won't rip is good too. It will be - 40 f soon. There will be more wool on my back than every sheep in New Zealand. Thats reminding me of the film Black Sheep, I love that one😂. Thanks for watching mate.

Nice video. Minnesota isn’t the Arctic, but it can feel like it. We can easily get down to -25 F (-30 C) during the winter. State record is about -60 F (-50 C).
@KuukkeliBushcraft10 ай бұрын
It is actually quite mild in Northern Europe. The gulf stream brings a lot of warmth from the tropics, we freeze it up and send it your way😂. I have been much further south than this in Greenland, and it's far more how I would have expected the Arctic to look as a child. It rarely drops below - 40 here but it does get really dark. I will be struggling to film outdoors soon. This video was actually a little dark already.

Does all the winter layering affect you and your coworkers communication with each other, and maybe the dogs as well? Side comment, but I’ve been curious about the idea that languages from cold climates evolved as they did due to the physical limitations of speaking in such cold weather. Cheers/Kippis
@KuukkeliBushcraft10 ай бұрын
The main communication problem we have is at the times we really need to communicate are he same times as all of the dogs are going crazy and you can't hear very much oer the top of those little hooligans 😂. When someone has there face covered with a buff or snowmobile helmet it can make them harder to here. We do do a lot of pointing and have a fair few hand signals. That is due mostly to the noise and the distance between us and has little to do with the cold. You do often wonder what some of the clients you are talking to actually look like and if they are smiling. We rarely have our faces covered except on the sleigh or snowmobile. The dogs might find it harder to read our moods (something Unni is a master at) but they still respond to voice commands (or at least understand them). In all I think it doesn't affect our communication very much. Communication can be very much impaired by the stress and chaos of 60 very exited dogs and 20 clients who don't really know what's going on (typical safari) and how well the communication works is very dependent on who you are working with. Hope that answered your question.
