I always laugh when people get mad about a bands sound changing. Do you people really just want bands to rehash the same music over and over? Evolution is good. Sure I hate when bands sell out, but in the case of Arctic Monkeys they are developing a new sound while still sticking to their rock roots. Not a bad thing at all in my opinion.

Faith DeCoste well another favorite band of mine is the strokes who have been around since the early 90's. it's 2014 and everyone in the band still dresses exactly as they always have. they just still wear their leather jackets and tight ripped jeans. so yeah. also if they grew up and started dressing in their own styles that'd be cool, but they fucking coordinate their douchbag look so they all look like douches. i'm sorry but that's not growing up. that's selling out. i didn't want to say it before because i like them but you brought it out of me. sorry , but i'm not sorry, at all. alex turner sold out. yeah, i said it.

Their music just keeps getting slower and slower. I don't care how sexy he is now, because his music sure isn't. This is where it's at.
@dirkheeres220610 жыл бұрын
You gotta be able to respect the change they took in their music. Their music is more focused on lyrics instead of catchyness. I really like Humbug and Suck It And See. Their last album is a let down for me, lots of repetition and orthodox structure in their songs. It's kind of dumbed down, and that's a direction I don't like. I hope their next album, if there will be one, will be better, both lyricly and catchiness wise.
@God00111110 жыл бұрын
I completely agree, I respect it and I like some of the individual songs but it just seems so pander-y as a whole. Plus, Alex Turner, while looking completely rock and roll, has taken a complete nosedive in terms of ego. He's obnoxiously hip-thrusty on stage. I like this Alex.
@dirkheeres220610 жыл бұрын
I agree that his ego has grown immensely since the release of their first album, but what did you expect? You can't really blame him on the fact that he has realised what impact his music had on both his fans, and rock and roll nowadays in general. But I also agree that he looks more 'true', if you can call it that way, here than he does now. I have yet to see them live, but I'm sure I'll enjoy their show because I love their music. Matt Helders looks a lot like he did back then, though. He still pulls those same faces he did during his first shows when he's drumming
